Miyamoto confirmed that he is making a Super Mario Bros 3DS title. I assume there wasn't much media on it because of the fact that they are so early in the production. But it's still great to hear that there will be for sure a Mario 3DS Platformer title even though it may be years away until we get a chance to play it.

Matt H. says:
So this was formally announced today and will get a bigger showing at E3. I guess it's possible this could be a holiday title, but who knows with Nintendo. Sometimes they announce big games a year and a half in advance (Skyward Sword) and others get announced six months before release (DKC Returns). Getting this day one either way.

There was no way they weren't making a Mario game for the 3DS. It's going to be a HAVE to preorder game.

NO! 3ds is a new system. You can't play ds games on a gba, can you? This is a 3ds only game. It won't fit in the ds, the 3ds has a bigger screen and new controls, and it WON'T WOKR.

You can turn the 3D effect off if it gives you headaches.

@Gianna

DS, DSi, and DSi XL are the same system will the later ones having a download service. 3DS is a NEW system. DS games play on it, but not the other way. It's called backward compatible and forward compatible.

I know :-( I was just wishful thinking, excited about a new mario game, but I'm not about to buy a new handheld system just for one game...

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 10, 2011 12:10:58 PM PDT
The 3D effect on full gives me headaches too. Next time you play the system, try it on half-way 3D. I found it to be a lot more comfortable for my eyes and head.

thanks, I'll try it again and see what happens...

J. Rewis says:
I usually play with the 3D effect turned completely off due to headaches as well but like Yoshi said, try it halfway...I put mine about 1/4 of the way and it's perfect for me, no headaches and I can still experience and enjoy the 3D effect!

I'll try it again but cant justify the cost over just this game (or the upcoming kirby)....

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 11, 2011 10:07:03 AM PDT
If you are refering to Kirby: Mass Attack, that game is actually coming out on the DS, not the 3DS.
It was probably just in development a very long time, and Nintendo decided to just release it for the DS, instead of transferring their hard work to a 3DS cart and risk criticism for the DS-quality graphics.

Gianna says:
good to know, Green, it going in my wish list along with Professor Layton and Kirby wii :-) and I'll see if 3ds is worth buying then...

If I heard correctly they said we would be playing this by the end of the year at the E3 press conference...that correct?

That's what I heard as well. You never know though when the game is still months from being released. They could push it back if it wasn't ready by the end so you never know. But I really really hope it's out by Christmas.

What's the point of pre ordering from Amazon and have to wait for shipping when I can just go to Gamestop or anywhere else and play it right then and there. They need to add some sort of bonus or credit before they get my business!

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 19, 2011 6:57:16 PM PDT
Some people like to order and forget, then be surprised when it shows up at their door. Driving to the store and taxes cost money.
