Este disco reúne lo mejor de la poesía de Nicolás Guillén, uno de los mejores poetas latinoamericanos, con las hermosas melodías de un Pablo Milanés jóven y fresco, en una de sus mejores épocas. Buen exponente de la Nueva Trova Cubana, este CD es uno de mis favoritos de Milanes.

Pablo Milanés is an exceptional singer / songwriter and one of the fundamental exponents of the "Nueva Trova" or "New Song" movement in Latin America & the Caribbean. His musical arrangements of the selected verses of Nicolás Guillén is living proof of his genius and command of the elements of music and poetry. This work is a beautiful tribute to the late Nicolás Guillén. I highly recommend it. If you get the chance you should look for his work with Mario Benedetti, in particular "Hombre Preso Que Mira a su Hijo." This is yet another example of the beauty of true poetry put to music. Pablito's voice is also far beyond comparison.

This Cd is a very refined and fresh work of art. Guillen's beatiful and deep poetry has a perfect parallel in Milanes's sensitive and alive settings.
