A Great and Unexpected Project from Rich Mullins,
By JC (MD USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Canticle of the Plains (Audio CD)
Rich Mullins' song cycle features an expanded Ragamuffins line-up on a project he believed very strongly in. There are a few breathtaking songs on here, fantastic performances and a fascinating story line. Hard to find, independently released. If you don't have this you should get it. Enjoy (and contemplate the content).

I got lucky and managed to snag this from Mitch McVicker just after a performance at Cincinnati Christian University as part of a Rich Mullins memorial/scholarhip donation show. The songs are a bit hit and miss in my opinion, the winners being really good and the misses being utterly forgettable. The song "There You Are" is one of the best songs anywhere, ever. Basically, the songs that Mitch or Leigh Bingham-Nash sing are great, the others aren't bad but don't compare to the rest.
