Recalls the best of 1980s college pop, December 8, 2001
This review is from: Cantilevered Heart (Audio CD)
This second disc from Arlington, VA songsters I See Spots is a softer, almost folky outing, compared to their first, "Word Order." Still, their main influences seem to be Guadalcanal Diary, REM, and the Feelies. Tight melodies, heartfelt singing, and even a nice acoustic instrumental that reminds me of Uncle Tupelo's acoustic masterpiece March 16-20, 1992. Singer Sean O'Brien and guitarrist Joel Rosenquist showcase the personal side of indie pop. Not to be missed.

I downloaded a few songs from this disk, and have been listening to them for about a month. I really enjoy them. They're excellent and deserve serious attention.
