I can't say enough about this CD, I truly love it. The spirit of the earth moves through the instrument of Don Evangelino's hauntingly beautiful voice. The traditional icaros draw you into the world of plant spirit medicine with force and grace. He is a true musician, allowing you to feel the pulse of the jungle in every shake of the rattle, strum of the charango and breath of the quena. This is unlike any other recording of it's kind. I highly recommend buying this CD, you will be so happy you did!

I love this CD for so many reasons. It can put my mind at ease, calm my mood, and rhythmically transport me to a different place--just where I want to be. I especially listen to this when I'm gardening--perfect for connecting with the earth. The sounds of the flutes and other instruments are healing and wonderfully melodic with their mystical connection to nature. I find myself smiling and humming along often. Get this and you will too!

Thank goodness this is on my iPod and not on tape like the old days because it would be worn out for now. If you are looking for ceremonial ikaros to move your soul, congratulations, you've found them. I only wish I had purchased the CD (been a little more patient) instead of MP3s because I didn't realize at the time that translations and lyrics are included with the CD!

The music and chants of this masterful musician has the authenticity and beauty that transports you back to nature and spirit. I love Don Evangelino's CD and highly recomend it to anyone who enjoys this genre of music

Let's face it, not all shamans are created equal when it comes to musicality as we understand it in the West. Despite the fact that being "musical", in Western understanding, is not a top priority in Amazonian shamanism and in shamanism from around the world, it is hard for us not to be judgmental regarding issues related to musicality due to the way we are conditioned. Don Evangelino Murayay is a well-experienced shaman with an unusual commend of the various parameter involved in a musical performance. He is a fantastic singer and a multi-instrumentalist. Very simply he is a great shaman and a superb musician! This is one of the best traditional ayahuasca icaros recordings in the market right now. The recording quality complements Don Evangelino's mastery. I highly recommend it!

Don Evangelino Murayay has an amazing singing style, with an incredibly clear voice reflecting the clarity of his spirit achieved through truly undergoing the work of la medicina. He powerfully transmits his healing intent through these songs. There is no doubt that this cd and the intentions of its recording are pure and untainted. Those who have been fortunate enough to sit through ceremony with Don Evangelino Murayay are truly blessed indeed. But thanks to this wonderful album even those of us who have not sat with him can also experience this true medicine man's magic and blessings...
As was stated in an earlier review, it would be recommended to buy the actual cd as it includes an insert with the songs, and there translations, an amazing gift for learning these sacred icaros.

A wonderful CD of icaros from the mestizo tradition. I had the amazing opportunity to work with "don Evangelino" and I simply love the sound of his voice! Listening to this CD sends me back into trance immediately. The lyrics of the icaros (which are included) are also invaluable. Highly recommended!
