5.0 out of 5 stars =Hurts So Good=
This is a fantastic compilation of some of The Gipsy King's most romantic songs. I am not one that by rule likes greatest hits, but in this case, I do. In my opinion, one would have to search far and wide to find music with more passion and emotion. This is from el corazon-the heart. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not really a new album!!!
If you already own most of the Gipsy Kings CD's this one is a waste of money. Other than a single (unremarkable) cut, nothing on this CD is either new or obviously remastered. Save your money.

This is a fantastic compilation of some of The Gipsy King's most romantic songs. I am not one that by rule likes greatest hits, but in this case, I do. In my opinion, one would have to search far and wide to find music with more passion and emotion. This is from el corazon-the heart. The guitars speak volumes while Nicolas Reyes' one of a kind voice carries us through all the beauty and suffering that has encompassed Flamenco for generations. With this, a suggestion: Grab your lover and some vino, put this CD on and see what develops...I bet it'll be hotter than The Costa Del Sol!

My favorites are: "Un Amor"/"Gitano Soy"/"Love & Liberte"/"Quiero Saber"/"Caminando Por La Calle" (My most cherished of all)/"Trista Pena."

Although I am elated to see Latin music gaining popularity, some of todays stars are pale in comparison to The Gipsy Kings...Adios amigos- Que Dios te bendiga.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~*LOVE*~ ...forever loyal, June 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cantos De Amor (Audio CD)
This is a nice compilation, and just about due in the US, as Europe already had the Gipsy Kings' Love Songs for a while. ok ok....... if you have everything ever put out by the GK, perhaps this cd may be a bit redundant -- in fact Gitano Soy [Nicolas Reyes is brilliant on this by the way...] is the only "new" song on this CD. However the choices & order of each song were well done... they flow into each other! also, if you listen closely in Mujer, you'll hear a newly added piano part-- to me it lends a nice feminine touch to it. A true fan will not be disappointed--in fact, if you're new to the GK, get this one & work your way backwards~ the journey will be the best of your life! My only complaint.... MORE CANUT! ; )

4.0 out of 5 stars This CD oozes love in all its forms., February 1, 1999

This review is from: Cantos De Amor (Audio CD)
Despite owning 'The Best of the Gypsy Kings' and 'Tierra Gitana', I liked this CD because it sets a mood. Compilation CDs are never a good idea if you own the majority of the artist's work, but if like me, you only have a couple, then this CD is a very good buy. Whether you are in love, want to be in love, or wish you weren't, there's something for you on this CD. I love the pain expressed in Trista Pena and Gitano Soy.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Sampler, October 21, 2003
This review is from: Cantos De Amor (Audio CD)
The Gipsy Kings, who sing mostly in Spanish and apparently live and record in France -- go figure --, are incredibly prolific. Unless one is insatiable for lots of flamenco guitar and gypsy music, the collections, either this one or best of or both, will probably suffice. The disc includes a couple instrumentals and, as the title suggests, all the songs are of love, frequently the leaving kind of love (both leaver -- No Volvere -- and left -- Tu Quieres Volver). My single favorite is the lilting Caminando Por la Calle, love at first beat and some wonderful la-la vocalizing. Other picks: Mi Corazon, Hable Me, Mujer. Some will be interested to know that My Way (A Mi Manera) is better in Spanish, but not by much. Overall, very enjoyable music.

Even if you own all or several of these fantastic artists work....Cantos is a must. Even though most of the songs are not new per say...the way they have been put together set such a beautiful mood. It is truly intoxicating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who knew plucked heartstrings could sound so good?, January 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cantos De Amor (Audio CD)
These love songs are sultry and sensuous, passionate and powerful. All tracks are basically traditional gipsy, yet the range of emotions expressed in the songs demonstrates the richness of this musical form. This compendium, which includes some tracks that have already been covered by other artists, may shed some light on the origin of the phrase "Latin lover." The CD is great for anyone interested in exploring the less frantic side of gipsy, or for anyone building a collection of quality international music. You will return to it again and again...
