5.0 out of 5 stars "Canvas of Dreams" a must-have CD, September 11, 2001

This album is a gift to the listener of lovingly crafted, beautiful songs. It is also an insight into the tremendous spirit of Tracy Stark, who wrote all of the songs, sings lead vocals, executive produced the album, and even played piano on a few of the tunes. Classically trained, Ms. Stark's skills are as solid as can be. But her forte (no pun intended) is clearly as a singer/songwriter. From the bluesy, dreamy feel of "Good Life," to the more upbeat sound of "Movin' On" and "You Were There," to the ethereal notes of "Dreams," Ms. Stark captures a mood, articulates a feeling, and touches the heart. These are wonderful songs, superbly arranged and lovingly presented to the listener. For anyone who appreciates good music, this CD is a must-have in your collection. Buy it!!!! You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great debut cd!, December 1, 2000

What a wonderful find! Tracy Stark is a talented contemporary singer-songwriter in the tradition of Joni Mitchell or Carole King. Bursting with things to say, Tracy has her own unique perpective on life that pours out of her songs. Her songs range from the tuneful ballad "Music Man" to, my favorite, her upbeat pop tune "Right Where I Belong," with lots of other things in between. The funny, bluesy "Lottery of Lovers" is an unexpected treat. While a few tracks don't have much impact, on the whole, it's a rich and varied CD, one I enjoy playing over and over again.

Tracy Stark is a true original, along the lines of Carole King or Tori Amos. Her music scans with her lyrics so well, and she touches the gamut of human emotions on this CD. I can't imagine anyone not relating in some way to one of the songs on this terrific CD. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!

Not only does Tracy Stark write beautiful songs but she sings them as well in an AMAZING soulful voice. I was blown away by the writing and singing style of this artist. Each song has it's own story that only Stark can tell about love and life in her beautiful voice. From the first song "Good Life"I was hooked on this well crafted CDDanny Creed [ vocalist in S.F.]

Tracy Stark's "Canvas of Dreams" blew me away. An amazing song writer who sings these songs from the bottom of her soul. From the first song on this CD I was hooked by her beautiful vocals and her heartfelt stories behind each one of her songs. It feels like she truely lived each song she sings. Tracy is a great talent who not only writes her own songs but performs them in the only way she knows how with great feeling and style thatmakes her a must see entertainer. Wow. What a talent. After hearing this CD I am now a true fanDanny Creed [ S.F.vocalist ]

5.0 out of 5 stars Warm and wonderfully textured, many vocal shadings, March 21, 2001
This review is from: Canvas of Dreams (Audio CD)
Tracy's music in this, her first album, is always very warm and contains many wonderful textures. You can listen to this album over and over and it reaches you every time. The styles of these songs are so varied, you're transported from one shade to another on her canvas of images. I grew up listening to Tracy's impressive keyboard playing, but I never realized she had such remarkable vocal sublety until I heard her on this album. Canvas of Dreams is a great delight. If she wasn't my sister, I'd probably have some even better things to say about her music. I'm very proud to be able to give her album my highest recommendation.
