I recently purchased a 300 lb. Olypic set from a local retailer (not Amazon). Several of the plates would not fit the barbell due to excessive cast material. I contacted CAP and sent pictures. After an initial e-mail acknowledging that I had lodged a complaint I have heard nothing further and in the mean time I have several plates I can't use unless I grind the excess myself. My set has a baked on enamel finish and this would require removing the paint. Next time I'll buy YORK.

I ordered the weight set from picnic world, they sent me the innacurate set with a bar missing an end. They tried to rectify the situation by sending me a replacement piece. Of course they sent the wrong piece, then they started harrassing me about my refund that amazon provided. I told them I would revoke the claim when they sent me the replacement part. So now here it is two months later and I'm returning it to them. What a pain this has been,

Value weight set. 300# including 45# straight bar. Plates are a bit rough around the edges, straight bar is chrome plated and very nice. Good value. Contents: 1. 2x45 pound plates with olympic sized holes 2. 2x35 3. 2x25 4. 2x10 5. 4x5 6. 2x2.5 7. 7' long olypic straight bar - chrome plated 8. 2 chrome plated olympic sized spring collars Other description 1. Plates are nice, but if you are looking for a pretty set, you may not be content. Plates have larger casting defects than most I have seen. No biggy for most but if you are considering a fancy chrome or rubber coated set, you may not be content. 2. The plate coating is very nice. 3. The plates have just enough of a single sided lip on them for handling, but are not as easy to handle as plates with hand holds, double lips, or both. This shouldn't be a problem unless you are particular. 4. The chrome plated bar is very nice. The portion that the plates fit over is even ribbed to help prevent the weights from sliding off.
