Don't have the time or money to showoff in a gym? Then get the versatile BAR,

The best bar I ever owned. Don't go for bars that don't come with their own locks because you'll be wasting your money. I once bought a bar said to secure standard weight plates thinking I can use the same locks I used for my dumbbells which also supported standard plates and the bar ended up being like a millimeter short and my locks wouldn't fit it. Yes, standard size bars or locks are not always the same size.
I've had bars that would rust on me in less than a month but this one is holding out. The locks screw on and off so easy, I love it, and I can usually complete two or three workouts before having to tighten them again. It may seem skinny and hard to feel in my grip, but all bars feel that way to me. It sometimes falls too short when I do the overhead press. I'm 6 ft, so if I'm not careful where I place my hands the weight hits the side of my forearm when doing this particular exercise, and my 20lb plates are small, designed for dumbbells. I have the same problem with the bench press. But with everything else (bent over row, upright row, squats, deadlift, or even curls if your wrists can take it) this bar makes a tough workout comfortable. I use to do everything with dumbbells but I find bars make things so much easier when doing compound workouts using both arms or legs. Especially with bent over rows or presses because I spend less time concentrating on maintaining equal distance between hands and more time focusing on movement, muscle contraction and good form, which is essential in preventing injury.

Wrong Dimensions,

Beware! The specifications for this barbell are missing so one takes a chance. From Cap Barbell's website, I assumed this 6' barbell had no more than 42" grip area which would leave at least 14.5" for the sleeves (area that holds the weight). Well, it doesn't. The sleeve area of this barbell is 11.5" on each side which will barely hold a total of 200 lbs of weight. The grip area of this 6' barbell is 49" whopping inches on a measly 6' bar ... utterly ridiculous and way, WAY too long. A lifter using a 1" diameter, 6' long bar isn't likely using this bar in a power rack. I rate this product a 3 because the construction seems decent, but the specifications for a 6' bar are ludicrous.

Holds up to 250 lbs - excellent standard bar. The rolled steel is flawless and great for working out.

I received the barbell in a long narrow box, it came with the barbell and the end-pieces that screw on the ends to secure the plates. The ends are threaded nicely so plates can be changed quickly and smoothly. The grip areas of the bar are well grooved and not sharp but rough enough to keep a solid grip with sweaty hands. I loaded 415 lbs (for a deadlift and to test the bar) and the bar held it with room on the ends to spare for a couple more plates and I did not notice much flexing which suggests this piece of steel is tough. Weights about 15 to 20 pounds, maybe more just a guess from holding it.
I wish CAP made a fat bar version of this, I would definitely buy one. Overall this is a great addition to anyone's staple of equipment and should be one of the first.

I like this bar just fine. Star locks screw on and off with ease and lock down well. I'm a 40+ woman, so I won't be loading up with insane amounts of weight, but it's good and solid and should easily handle the weight limit it advertises.

This bar came tightly packed in plastic wrap. It was a little tough to get the plastic off but it is the only way the spin on collars would have stayed on the bar during shipping. The bar is great, six feet, well knurled, nice chrome, the spin on collars work great, couldn't even find a six foot bar locally and it would have been more money than this one even if I could have found one.

Picked up the 5' bar recently while on sale at Amazon. I considered the 6 footer at first but this bar perfect for my needs. As a 66 yr. old guy, I only lift a moderate amount of weight to maintain muscle tone. Using the cheap Wally World 10# weights, this bar has enough room to go to 200 lbs.; more than I'll ever need.
It took about 15 minutes work with a boxcutter to free it from the layers of stretchwrap in which it was shipped. Also the knurling in the bar grip areas is deep and sharp enough to be felt while lifting. Mine came through in perfect condition with no signs of rust or other damage. The right side threaded weight retention collar always works loose in the course of a lifting session. Tightening it back up only takes a few seconds, so it's no biggie. I have another bar with the same style collars, and it does the same thing.

My first new bench press bar in 43 years!,

I decided it was time for a new bar on the bench so I checked out Amazon and came up with the Cap Barbell six footer. So, okay. My equipment has been described as "Seriously Old School" and at age 60 I began to think about the consequences of getting stuck on a heavy bench while alone in the basement so even I decided it was time to get one of these threaded deals so that as I tried to climb out from under a stuck weight the plates on one side wouldn't slide off. It's happened to me with 300 pounds. Not fun The threaded collars on this bar took care of that potential problem but additionally, this is a really good bar. Why?
1) The afore mentioned threaded collars which DO come with the bar are great. I bet the guy above who said his bar didn't come with collars was using them as inside collars. 2) The roughed up hand grip areas are great for giving the user a confident gip. 3) The six footer can hold big weights and anyone who says it can't should invest in some bigger plates. I start off with 50s on the inside. 4) The specs say this bar is good for up to 250 pounds of weight capacity. That must be legalese because this boy can hold more than that. 5) The six footer has SNAP! They say it flexes and it does. Like when using an olympic bar, you can lift more if you get that snap working for you and you CAN get the snap working for you with this bar. In other words, come down with your weight. Pop it down. Hesitate an instant and when you feel that bar begin to snap up, GO for it! Anyway, NICE bar. CHEAP for what it is! Buy one! Great deal. AND "Free Super Saver Shipping" I feel like I stole it. (One thing. I need to know exactly what it weighs. I called the company and left a message.)

I ordered two of the 6' bars on Sunday night with ground shipping and they got here on Wednesday of the same week, great delivery. They come well packaged in plastic wrap so have a utility knife ready for when they arrive. The bar actually weighs closer to 15 lbs opposed to the 10 lbs I saw in a question here. Overall a good bar, am using one for squats and one for presses. I bought these because the price was great and I needed a couple better bars until I invest in Olympic bars and plates. Just completed my first work out with them this morning and they performed well. My only complaint is the length of the bar to put plates on is rather short as stated in a different review, otherwise I'd have given 5 stars.
tl;dr Fast delivery. Great beginner bar at a great price.

I am 5'8". I use this for bench presses on my Reebok bench press table. It is very good. Comes with Steel nuts at the end to secure the weights. This is good for my hands size. Olympic size bar would have been little bigger for the room space I got. Overall I love this product and will recommend this.
