I bought 3 of these batteries from UnitedIntegral on Amazon. The $5.50 price (with shipping) is incredible... you can find these batteries priced for under $0.20 (20 cents), but they make up for that with $5 shipping charges per battery, so it all comes out the same.

Now, I ordered 3 of the same items, but I got different batteries. Two were marked as BG1 1600mAh, and the third was marked BG1/FG1 1200 mAh. However, they were all FG1; you can tell when they are in the camera. The battery indicater for BG1 shows full charge bars; with FG1, the battery only shows 1 charge bar, but provides a time estimate for remaining use. These were all consistent.

Charging times varied between these and the BG1 that came with my new Sony DSC-HX9V: regardless of charging in the camera or in the two extra EPG chargers (also from UnitedIntegral), all batteries took from 2.5 to 4 hours to charge, mostly in the 3.5 hour range, and the Sony battery and in-camera charging were not at all better than the replacement ones. That's the reason I got the extra chargers... I use lots of batteries in a day, and I don't want to be up until the wee hours making sure I have enough ready. But you should be aware that these take plenty of time to charge.

The real test is in the usage, right? These batteries performed EXCELLENTLY! All of them (including the original with the camera) gave between 3.5 and 4 hours of usage. That was using Sony's published discharge instructions: disable power-save mode, enable camera GPS, start a slide show (with music) of the images on an installed memory card. I charged and discharged them 3 times each as a test right after I received the package, and these usage times were consistent.

So, these batteries equalled the performance of the 10x as expensive Sony-branded FG1s. You just can't beat that for value! If you have any doubts about your battery needs, at these prices and results you can't go wrong picking up a couple of these spares.

I ordered this because it was listed as being an NP-FG1 replacement. However, the one I recieved was labeled "Fits Son. NP-BG1" and "3.6V 1200mAh Li-ion." No mention of being an NP-FG1 replacement.

However, when I charged it and put it in my Sony DSC-HX5V camera, it displayed both the battery icon and the time left just like an NP-FG1. So, I guess it's what I wanted after all. It seems like the labeling on these knock-off batteries is pretty unreliable.

Although I've only charged it once, it seems to have a lot of capacity and so far I'm happy with it. And who can argue with the price?

I bought this battery so I would have a backup during my study abroad trip to Ireland. I love my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50, but the battery life is seriously limited, and when you're going to be away from a plug for an extended period of time, you're restricted to the rather short life of the battery that came with the camera.

So this little guy saved my life. It helps so much to have an alternate when I forget to charge my camera battery, or when I'm going somewhere far away from plugs. This one works just as well and just as long as the Sony battery! I definitely recommend buying one, even if you already have one that works. It always helps to have a backup!

This battery was supposedly made to work in place of Sony NP-BG1. It does not! On my Sony HX9V, there was an error message that said that battery was not compatible. The seller has offered to send the right ones, but I have had to pay the return shipping for the defective ones - which was almost as much as the battery! Perhaps this battery will work in other applications, but not for mine. (Additional note: the seller has indeed promptly replaced the 2 batteries with ones that have even greater power, and which perfectly in my camera. Thanks to them for the assistance.)

The print says BG but it's actually an FG1 as it can be seen after putting the battery into the camera. Has been working flawlessly after 10 days of use in my Cybershot W130. Worth the price.

I own a Sony DSC-WX10 that came with one NP-BG1 battery. Unlike the Sony DSC-WX1 and the Sony DSC-WX5, the DSC-WX10 did not come with an external battery charger, and requires that the camera be connected to the wall adapter (provided) or a computer USB port to charge the battery. So I came onto Amazon to find an aftermarket charger for the NP-BG1 battery. After doing a bit of searching I found all the positive reviews for this aftermarket battery, so I decided to get one of these as well.

I am very impressed with this battery. This battery is labeled as a NP-BG1, but in the Sony DSC-WX10 it actually performs like a NP-FG1, as others have mentioned. When I insert this battery into the camera, next to the battery indicator on the LCD the amount of time remaining in the battery is displayed. The User Manual for the DSC-WX10 does not mention anything about NP-FG1 compatibility, nor does anything I could find on Sony's website. But this battery definitely makes the 'time remaining' appear on the screen. My Sony DSC-WX1 worked this way with NP-FG1 batteries, and I liked knowing exactly how much charge was left in the battery, instead of just four bars. So I was very happy to see that the DSC-WX10 also has this capability.

Now, more about the battery. This battery is amazing. For just under $5.00 (including Shipping and Handling) this battery gave me 350 shots and still showed that it had 35 minutes remaining. The original battery was dead after only 335 shots. This was not a scientific test, as I did not keep track of how many shots used the flash, or how many were wide panoramas, etc. But it was very obvious that this battery performed at least as good as the one supplied with the camera. I have purchased many aftermarket camera batteries, and most have performed poorly to say the least. They were OK as a backup, but no where near the quality of the original. This is definitely the exception!

I must mention that I do not know if this battery will charge correctly in the camera, as I only charged it using the aftermarket charger. I also charged the original battery with the aftermarket charger, and may have gotten better performance from it had it been charged in the camera.

I was so impressed with the performance of this battery that I just purchased a battery from this vendor for my Canon S95. I will leave a review for that battery after it arrives and I have time to evaluate it. Thank you for reading my review and I hope that you found this review useful! One last thing. The battery arrived in two days, and the vendor did a great job of communicating that the battery had shipped.

I was skeptical of the low price but after reading the reviews I thought it was a smart buy. Even though the battery model of my Sony DSC-H70 is the same as the other models listed in the description (NP-FG1), the number on the item received was not the same. Since other reviewers wrote that it still worked in their cameras, I thought it would in mine. Unfortunately this was not the case. After installing the battery, it seemed like it would work and then the screen went black with a message stating to use the proper battery and the camera would shut off.

I tried fully charging the battery but got the same black screen and error message. I ended up returning the since Amazon does make returns easy. Looks like I will have to pay $20+ for a Sony battery replacement as I do not trust ordering an off-brand battery.

I got only 1 of this just to give it a try and really it turned out to be cool.
I have the original battery from Sony (own it since last three years) which still gives me a good amount of shoot time.
But i always wanted to have a spare one and atlast got it. This battery really performs well + it has battery charge indicator in time.

This product meets all its requirement and price is also very less compared to original Sony battery.

I will certainly recommend this product.

This battery's charge lasts a lot longer than my original battery. I take this extra battery with me everywhere I go! Thanks for such a great product!

Well it works as expected, delivered on time, now I can take a lot of pics and videos without worrying about the battery charge (Because now I have my spare battery), price is also really attractive...!!!
