This battery is awesome. My old battery would last 45 minutes at the most with the screen dimmed as dark as it would go. I wanted to see how long this battery would last so I charged it all the way, unplugged the AC adapter, and used my computer almost non-stop until it died. This battery lasted over 6 hours with the screen at full brightness and with no Vaio optimization settings enabled.

This battery is slightly bigger than the original Sony battery. It sticks out of the back of the computer almost an inch and a half, and it raises the back of the computer up a little over a half an inch. However, the size has not caused any problems for me. It still fits in my Targus laptop case with the battery in it, and the additional height just puts the keyboard at a slightly better angle for typing.

I would recommend this battery to anybody that wants their laptop to last nearly an entire day.

Although the specs didn't say it was an "exact" replacement (the battery and laptop model #s were real close, just not identical for my laptop) for my Sony VGN-N365E, Model # PCG-7Y2L; however, it fits and works flawlessly! :) Since it is a high capacity battery, it sticks out of the bottom, back of the laptop some (one row of "additional" batteries cells or whatever they're called) and elevates the bottom rear of the laptop maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch; which is a good thing, as helps to dissipate the heat the laptop generates when sitting on a table or other flat surface. I had absolutely no problems with Sony not "recognizing" this battery replacement, as others have reported. However, I did install a full (non-upgrade) version of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit a while back, so the Sony version of Windows (Vista), and all other Sony crapware has long ago been overwritten (and, from what I understand, Sony's original OS install has a program or instruction which "looks" for original Sony batteries and "ignores" all others). My original, non-high capacity battery was silver or grayish in color and this replacement is black. My laptop has some black trim on it, so the the different color battery still looks good. I can't comment on battery life, as I haven't timed it, but it is pretty good (heck, anything is better than the 15 minutes or less that I was getting from my old, original, dying battery). Way, way cheaper from Amazon than Best Buy, Batteries Plus and the Sony sites!!! All packaging and battery looked new and it is a DEFINITE RECOMMEND! Enjoy.

This battery has all the capacity I need for my Sony VGN-SZ440. The original battery wouldn't quite last two hours, even when new. So far this battery has run 4 hours and still had some time to go.

One thing to note, however, is that this battery is not the same physical size as the Sony-brand extended battery, so it will not fit into the Sony docking station.

Excellent battery, some imperfections fitting the space of the original, because the tabs in the both sides that secure the battery don't fit into the slots perfectly, but at the end they fit. Great performance, I can work in my Vaio more than 6 hours without concerns about the energy. It's a bit heavy, but I don't mind, because I used it the more at home. If I need to go somewhere else, I always can use the original (which still works, although not with good performance because of its age) and carry this one in the bag, just in case.

I just received this battery today, and am planning on returning it. The specifications page on Amazon says it is an 8800mAh battery, but it is really a 7200. I am giving 4 stars because I am sure it is a good product, it is just not what is advertised in the specifications. It probably doesn't matter a whole lot for battery capacity, but I would still like to get what I purchased.

Battery was going fine and then one day unexpectedly died. The battery, according to the seller has a 1 year warranty. Since I purchased it 13 months ago, they were unwilling to do anything about it. While I understand their position, I felt it may have been in the seller's best interest to replace the battery for me or at least offer some type of partial refund. After all, a battery like this is meant to last longer than 13 months. For this reason, I will not be purchasing any items from this seller in the future, and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing this battery to stay away.

I bought this battery when my original Sony Battery went out and I got fed-up with just using the plug in. I research a few batteries for this computer, which is a Sony PCG-7K1L or VGN-FJ270 depending on where you look at the model number#. I wanted the extended battery for classes in school to last a while, which it does for at least 2 hours great, it will last for up to 4 if I don't using heavy browsing or lots of Video watching. Other than that the battery works great and fits well. The color does not match the color of my 2005/2006 Sony Laptop, but that is not important for me. However if you are looking for something that's lightweight than this battery may not be for you. Also the extra cells in the back of this battery raise my laptop up about an inch, which I don't mind considering the bottom of this already gets very hot and allows for ventilation. Overall the battery does what it needs to do and I would purchase another from them.

I purchased this item twice and the two items I received were different.
The lables are different. The fiest one is printed in white letters while the second one were in green.
The hardware are different either. The first one fits slightly better than the second one does. It is tricky to have the second one keep locked in the position.
The first one delivers satisfactory performance. I typically get 4-5 hours of use. The second one however, good for only 30 days (only be used for less than 5 times). Now it lasts for only 1.5 hours. It cuts off the power suddenly when the remaining power is still 50-60% in display.

My old standard battery had given up the ghost long ago to the point that if I unhooked my AC connection with the old beater in, the laptop would instantaneously blink off dead.
Time to purchase portable power but what to go for?
I trawled through 10's & 10's of different options, interestingly there was a heavier duty battery at 10200mAh but pound for pound didnt make sense in terms of cost more so in the longer term:
Yes having a heavier duty battery ie. more mAh would allow me to roam free of AC connection for longer but at $100+ and a probable longevity of 18 months at the most you'd have to have money burning holes in your pockets to keep replacing it; with this battery at a measley $38 for 8800mAh and the same longevity you could easily afford to replace it as often or even in as little as a year especially if you're prone to abusing your battery by leaving it connected to the AC and walking off to stir the cooking while at 100% charge or anywhere above its lowest battery state whilst the PC is on.
So weighing everything up this battery has certainly been value for money and gives me enough performance and time to get the usual done on my PC without worrying about it going low battery unexpectedly. Throw into the bargain that the design of this battery provides the rear underside heat exhaust port a good 1/2 inch more clearance from the work surface you place your PC on so your pride & joy stays cooler and you know you're on to a definite winner!!!

I found this product to be as good if not better than advertised. The recharge time is fast and I can work on my PC for hours before a recharge is required.
I'm very pleased with this product.
