I find it critical to have a second battery, so I can continue shooting (while my other battery is re-charging). These batteries have a decent life, claiming 300-400 shots per charge. I'm impressed with how they hold their charge between shoots (if not exhausted) and can be used at different times over many weeks in short spurts without noticeable loss of total energy storage. It's critical to get the separate EN-EL 12 battery charger with your battery, as by now you've noticed the charger coming with the Nikon camera (mine anyway, S8000) cannot charge a battery except inside the camera body! - what good is that, unless you're never going to buy a second battery, & be limited by the Fates as to when you must stop shooting to recharge. Recharge time, tho I didn't time it precisely, is good - less than 2 hours even when completely exhausted. For maximum life, & to prevent premature exhaustion or "memory," it is recommended to fully exhaust your batteries at least every few months; I do so with every use, even if it takes several sessions to do, and insert the fresh battery upon exhaustion - ensuring a full charge each time. Look & feel of battery I received is almost identical to original; cost @ $25.

I bought it taking into consideration that it is a replacement for the original one, but after the first use I am disappointed.
it holds the charge for a very few time, and the original one is enough for 300 pictures, this one, no more than 100!
Take care, it is unexpensive, but will not work the same way.

I purchased this for a backup battery, for the price its perfect overall I have noticed a slight decrease in comparison to the OEM battery, but it works just fine to get you by till your primary battery is charged again. For the price you could purchase several.

Purchased two EN-EL12 replacement batteries for my wife's Nikon S8000 camera. These are low cost after-market equivalents, not made by Nikon. Both failed within 1 month. The battery contacts separated from the edge of the case enough that they no longer supply power to the camera. They are useless at this point. Replaced with a genuine Nikon EN-EL12 battery which works well.

This battery works for my Nikon S9100 camera. The battery life is not as good as the original one, probably lasts about 65% of the original battery life. However, it works out well as backup battery.

I needed a 2nd battery for my camera, so I ordered this battery. It works as good as the battery that came with my Nikon camera. Good choice, but the price was very good.

Great battery for the price. Haven't had it long enough to say if it has a very long life, but so far so good.

The battery is worth the cost. I was able to shoot more than 300 pictures and still had charge in it.

Battery has 1050 mAh, close enough to 100 many batteries have. I always keep two: one in camera, one in charger. So I don't know how many pics it takes, I've never run out of power. Would order again. Prompt shipment too.

I needed a spare battery or two. I read the reviews and wondered if a battery this cheap really would work, but decided it was worth the risk even after adding p&p. So far I've used it 3 times and it's lasted as long as the Nikon original, and it has recharged okay. Of course time will tell, but so far it's done its job and I've bought two more from the same supplier although they appear different.
