Excellent for removing superficial scratches on your stainless steel or gold watch. Not designed for deep scratches - leave that to a jeweler or authorized service center... 5 stars: does what it promises to do, inexpensively. TIP: cut small pieces for each polishing job.

I inherited a pair of ornate antique sterling candlesticks from my mother-in-law and had them professionally polished by a silversmith because they were totally black with thick tarnish after years of exposure and disuse. They came back gleaming like new, and ever since I've used these superb cloths every few months to bring them back to that professional sparkle. This is the easiest and most effective polishing method I've ever used - no gunky paste getting stuck inside the pattern-work...just a quick going over with the polish-imbued cloth, and then buffing with the included cloth or your own. I've found that both soft paper towels or lint-free kitchen towels work equally well. I've just finished polishing the candlesticks and my mother's 60-year old set of silverplate flatware in time for Thanksgiving, and continue to be delighted with the ease of use and the results.

These cloths are a great step up from the buffer that jewelry stores give out with silver purchases. They work on most mild to medium tarnish- for deep pockets of tarnish you'll need one of the smelly pastes. I've used this on everything from jewelry to serving platters and even my grandmother uses it!

I bought this based on customer reviews and doing some online searches for something to polish my stainless steel watch collection. This seemed to fit the bill. The entire kit comes packed in a metal can and inside you will find twelve individual polishing cloths wrapped in a plastic film and sealed (2) per plastic bag, one buffing cloth and one pair of latex gloves. The directions are on the lid of the can in English and French. The company is based in Dennis Massachusetts, which is located on Cape Cod and hence the name. The clothes are impregnated with a petroleum distillate, which is somewhat aromatic, but not unpleasant.
The manufacturer claims the following on the side of the can: "Cleans the toughest jobs, polishes to a mirror shine, protects with our anti-tarnishing formula which significantly stretches time between polishes. Pleasant aroma. And finally Superior polish for Silver, Gold, Brass, copper, nickel, pewter, aluminum ans stainless steel." I can say the following about the product: I bought it to polish my stainless steel watch cases and watch bracelets. It did a great job (although I have to admit I have allot of watches, and most are protected in watch display boxes). I even used it on an extremely cheap watch that was plated with stainless steel and rusting and it polished it up pretty good. Since most of my watches did give the product much of a challenge, I tried it out on some very tarnished silver items; an old Ronson Queen Anne lighter and a very blck silver butter knife. Used alone it didn't do a great job, but when I used it in conjunction with TWINKLE silver polish I got an outstanding result. I've used Twinkle allot but am usually disappointed with the result. When I followed up with the Cape Cod polishing cloth, I got an outstanding finish. The polishing cloths themselves are like a felt cloth, and you can easily tear them if they get hooked on a sharp point. Once removed from the sealed plastic bag they can dry out. I resealed the one I used in a small zip lock bag to retain the distillates. So what I can honestly say about the product: Heavily tarnished silver with Cape Cod polishing cloth only. So, so. Heavily tarnished silver with Twinkle polish followed by Cape Cod polishing cloth. Excellent. Stainless steel watch cases and bracelets: Excellent. See my attached photos. PAUL

Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths,

This product EXCEEDED my expectations when it came to cleaning my silver.
Understand - it won't GROW silver that has been completely worn off but, after trying many products (all of which made me work overtime), this product beats them ALL - hands down. You can reuse them many times - so they last a long time. To refreshen one of the 4 x 6 cloths, simply use a bit of vegetable oil or mineral spirits. They WILL get discolored, but it won't effect it's ability to do it's job for a long time. Also, this product polishes a variety of metals - but I LOVE what it does to my silver.

Just received this within the past week. I have used it on all types of metal - brass, copper, sterling, gold, stainless and I am extremely happy with the product. I have always sworn by Maas, but this metal polishing cloth tops the cream. I bought the Economy Tin, and am glad I did as I have already shared it with my sister and a friend. Each pad seems so durable and long lasting, so this is not a wasteful product. Everything comes to a high sheen. Some antique metals, which may already have a beautiful patina, but dirty, will come up with a soft lovely lustre, without destroying patina as. Cooper will just glow. I used it on my rings and chains and I was amazed - it worked better than the cleaning clothes that you purchase in jewelry stores. This product is non-abrasive. The pad is oily to the feel. The kit included a buffing cloth, which is already black. I use a microfiber cloth to wipe the polish off and that works perfectly well. I polished a set of sterling flatware (service for 8) in under 25 minutes, a job I always put off, because it was so time consuming.
I'm a believer and will now be a loyal customer. I can almost guarantee that when you first use it and realize the simplicity and see the results, that you, too, will have to keep polishing away. And then a feeling a satisfaction settled it - I saw great results for my efforts. Thanks Cape Cod for a great product F T Mattre Johnstown Pa

This product is not messy. It still requires elbow grease, but it does remove the tarnish. It looks as if it will last a long time.

Good price for the very special item. The can alone is worth at least five bucks and the average for one cloth is smaller than anywhere else on the net.

I am impressed with this product. I used it on several of my worn stainless steel watches and was amazed at how it took out surface scratches. I rubbed out some very noticeable scratches, also adding a mirror like finish or shine to the watches that I worked on. If you have some scratches (not too deep) and want to rub them out - give the Cape Cod polish a try. For deeper scratches you will need to use Flitz Metal Polish or BlueMagic 400 Metal Polish Cream. For the price, the Cape Cod polishing kit is well worth it.
You can reuse the polishing cloths and buffing cloth over and over again no matter how dirty they appear. If they dry out somewhat - you just add a little vegetable oil to the cloth and reuse again. When using the product, be sure to use the included rubber gloves and use a small section of one of the 4" x 6" cloths when working on jewelry or watches. When using the buffing cloth, rub out the polish haze completely until the metal shines. Keep repeating the process until the scratches disappear. Believe me, it worked great on my watches.

Great metal polish....particularly great on brass.....doorknobs and knockers as well as inside the house. However, I still can't get away from my old tried and true Wright's polish for the silver.
