Book Description

Globetrotter Guides March 1, 1996
Designed for the visitor wanting to experience the best of Cape Town in a limited time period, this travel guide is written with the first-time visitor in mind. It recommends worthwhile sights and places of interest to visit using a three-star grading; advises on where to stay, eat and shop, and suggests enjoyable excursions and the best way to travel around. It highlights Cape Town's top attractions: Table Mountain; the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront; the Wine Routes through the Constantia Valley and the vineyards of the hinterland; scenic drives along the coasts; Chapman's Peak; and the white-sand beaches of the Peninsula's shoreline. The text contains travel tips, information panels, maps and charts which should enable visitors to make the most of the time available.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good guide, September 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Cape Town Travel Guide (Paperback)
Very colourful, many pictures, good maps of Cape Town. Excellent charts. A lot of content set out in a totally unboring way. If you find this guide boring then you are simply not interested in Cape Town. However, if you are interested in Cape Town then you will find out how usefull this book actually is, unless you are planning to live there. This is clearly a tourist guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Falling apart at the creases, January 12, 2009
By
CCF (Oregon, USA) - See all my reviews
Yes, this map is wrinkled, torn and frayed, but that's what happens after 6 weeks of daily use, constant consultation, in and out of the daypack, folding and refolding. If you plan to spend 'any' length of time in and around CT, take this along with. It was indisposable. Take this map, a guide book of your choice, an Afrikaans phrase book and a bottle of water for an adventure that never ends.
