I have purchased many more expensive ballroom shoes looking for a way to keep dancing while suffering from pain in the ball of my foot. This shoe did it - other lower heel shoes I have tried have not offered as much support or padding in the toe area. Not that these have a lot of padding, but whatever is there is sufficient. I am normally a size 9 Medium - but because my instep is so high I go up to a 9 1/2 and sometimes a 10 as the heel height gets lower. I went for the size 9 in these and they fit great. If your foot leans toward the wide side, I would say definitely go up to a wide width, because I tend to be on the narrower side of width. However, my right foot with the "issues" is swollen and this shoe fits fine.

I go to a drop-in ballroom studio now and then to take a beginner's lesson. I hesitated to buy an expensive shoe online, and I didn't like the looks of the cheaper brands, plus I really need comfortable shoes to dance. But since I'm not into the lessons full time like some people are, I was reluctant to spend a lot of money for a pair of shoes. So when I saw the sale going on, I decided to try this Capezio T-strap, and I am so glad I have them now. They fit well. It did not take long to break them in as they were comfortable on the second outing.
