4.0 out of 5 stars Good Shoes.
These are good tap shoes, if you need tap shoes and are an amateur tap dancer. I needed a pair of inexpensive tap shoes and these are perfect. Although their tap sound isn't as full as the more expensive Capezio shoe with the Tele Tone Tap, these shoes have the Tele Tone Jr. these shoes are still great and create a crisp tap noise. If you buy these shoes and are a woman,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Toe tap fell off after one week
My 17 year old is in a production at school for Singing in the Rain. Bought the shoes and after one week, the toe tap fell off and I contacted the vendor to see if I could exchange them for a new pair. They informed me I would have to have the original box and invoice (threw these away) and then it could take a few weeks for the transaction to be completed. Needless to...

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked for my rambunctious son, February 8, 2008

It fit pretty well, just a tiny shade loose in the heel, taps are not the loudest but they are acceptable. What I am most impressed with is the durability. My son is a beginner (and yes, at age 11, he's already in an adult shoe)and not real careful in his tapping or his shoe care and these things are really holding up! I would recommend these and I would purchase these again. By the way, the picture makes them look brownish. Never fear, they are nice and black.

They informed me I would have to have the original box and invoice (threw these away) and then it could take a few weeks for the transaction to be completed. Needless to say, I can't return/exchange. My advise is to keep the box and all paperwork for a few weeks to ensure you can return if needed.

2.0 out of 5 stars There are many better options, December 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been tapdancing for years, and I bought these shoes because I found myself roped into doing a quick tap improv show while away from home, and away from my favorite tap shoes. They will get the job done, but I don't like them. The only thing they have going for them is a very low price, which is helpful if you're just testing the waters with tapdancing. But if you're just starting out and you have any measure of interest in the genre, I would recommend Bloch brand's entry-level shoes instead. they are a bit more expensive, but they have a better feeling to them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Shoes, March 9, 2009

I bought these shoes because I was just starting out in tap and didn't want to spend a fortune on something I wasn't sure I was going to stick with. The shoes are very comfortable. However, the tap came loose during my third class. The taps are riveted on, not screwed, so if they come loose they are no longer any good. I have since thrown the shoes away and bought a real pair ($50.00). If you are just starting out and don't want to waste a lot of money, this is a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with shoes, September 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought these for my son who wears a size 10 street shoe and was concerned ordering two sizes smaller, as directed in the product description, they wouldn't fit. They did, and the Capezio brand I grew up with has held up nicely compared to a Brazilian brand I bought for my daughter on ebay that started cracking the second week she wore them. Ordering direct from Amazon, not a smaller operation, was the way to go. I learned my lesson for the future.
Buy with confidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Too little, too soon., February 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Capezio 442 Tapster Tap Shoe (Apparel)
Shoes are fine--but really untested. I only used them twice...until screwed up a knee...and will probably miss the rest of my lessons.
But...the construction is fine; fit is good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible..., February 18, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Honestly, the worst tap shoe I've ever worn. The tap sound is awful. The sizing was fine, but the sound is far too quiet and it's not crisp. The heel tap was too small (only a portion of the heel was covered), and the taps were thin.

1.0 out of 5 stars the sizes are wrong!, January 4, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Like other reviewers have expressed the sizes are wrong. 10 1/2 was way to small for me! Better buy local and try them on! I don't think they are Capezio!

3.0 out of 5 stars Serves its purpose, December 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Simply made but works well for starter tap dancers such as my son. He quit tap after a few months so the price was right considering.
