Thank you for your feedback.
They fit true to size - she has narrow feet and these were comfortable for her.
My child has not complained of the fit or anything like that, so I will say it fits as expected.
But I feel like the shoe is true to size and has been outstanding so far in her first 6 months of dance class.

My 4yo daughter is starting dance classes and I have no experience purchasing dance shoes. After comparing the Capezio and the Bloch "tyette" tap shoes, which both have elastic across the instep so you needn't worry with the ties, I am keeping the Capezio. They seem true to size in length, but a W is narrower than the M width of her Stride Rite dress shoes. I'd recommend ordering W if your child wears a M width. The Bloch was a pretty shoe but narrower overall with a more pointed toe box. The Capezio has a more rounded, roomier toe box and seems more flexible. The heel of the Capezio has a larger surface area which might make it more stable for little ones. The one downside is that the Capezio elastic is attached on both sides while the Bloch has a snap that can open for easier on/off.

I ordered a 10W for my almost 4 year old based on the reviews here. I think we should have gone with the M width. My daughter's foot is average width & the shoe seems to gape a bit at the sides. We wear them with tights. She wears a 9 street shoe (recently measured at shoe store), and ordered the 10 based on Capezio's recommendation to order 1 size larger than street shoe (for this particular shoe). The length is a good fit. Hope this helps!

These shoes are adorable, but I read the reviews and took the wrong advice. These seem to fit one-to-one with my daughter's shoe size. She is a 7 in regular shoes, but I ordered larger (8.5) and they were way too big. Have to return them, but I will definitely order another pair.

Awesome shoes. They work great for my 4 year old daughter. The size was right on. I went with the wide since dance shoes run narrow, it seems.

Size: 7 M US ToddlerSpecial Size Type: Toddler (1-4 Years)Color: Black Patent Verified Purchase
My daughter usually wears a size 7M, just recently went from 6 to 7. I ordered 7M and they were too small and narrow. I exchanged for a 7.5 Wide and they are PERFECT! She has room for growth and they are not too wide or narrow. She's only 2.5 years old, so I don't know how long the shoes or the classes will last! Either way they are adorable and beautiful quality. They have an elastic strap beneath the wide ribbon laces that keeps them secure. You can completely take off the laces if you'd like, which is helpful for a curious toddler that can't re-tie her own shoe. The ballet class asked that they not have the laces. You can't buy those elastic straps anywhere online! So these are the PERFECT shoe!!!

I made the mistake of waiting too long to buy and had to buy a pair from Payless for my other daughter (5yo). They have a special line "Spotlights" of ballet and tap shoes endorsed by the American Ballet Theatre. They were $26.99 and didn't have the elastic beneath the ribbon laces. I really like the quality of this Capezio shoe better than Payless. Capezio tights are also great color and quality!

Do not buy these. They are so poorly sized it is just a pain in the rear to get the right fit with this brand. My daughter wears a size 9.5 toddler shoe, so I bought a 10 thinking she would have plenty of room to grow. She was horribly dissappointed when they arrived in the mail and she literally could not even get it on her foot. It was not even close. I sent them back right away, but to add insult to inconvenience, they charged me return shipping. I did not make a mistake in ordering the wrong size. They made a mistake in making the sizes wrong. Very displeased. Go to Payless. Same price, much more accomodating.

I'd admit - we never even brought our daughter to the dancewear store to get a shoe fitting. The other dance moms told me they got their daughters' shoes from Amazon so I was a little apprehensive when I first heard it. I bought these shoes on a whim after finding such an awesome price for a Capezio! My daughter mostly wears Stride Rite so I went by their shoe sizing. It was recommended that you get the same size as your street shoe, or go up half a size. I stuck with my daughter's regular shoe size (per Stride Rite fitting) and these tap shoes fit her perfectly. She was so excited to open the package and insisted on wearing her tap shoes immediately! Needless to say she was so pleased to bring them to her next dance class and finally dance in them.

These are really nice tap shoes but I ordered a size up and a wide fit (as others suggested) and they were HUGE on my daughter. I have had the same problem in the past listening to other people in other reviews. Are their daughters wearing really thick socks with their tap shoes? I think so! My daughter wears a size toddler 10 and is allowed to wear tights only. They did not have her size in this shoe so I ended up getting a Bloch tap shoes which I was already familiar with. I prefer the tan color for the Capezio tap shoe over the Bloch but they are both nice quality. Others suggested to go up a size on the Bloch as well, but I found that not to be true as well.
