5.0 out of 5 stars Great starter ballet slippers!
I have just picked up ballet again, at the age of 20 and bought these slippers at a local dance store where I paid $20 for them. I wish I could have waited a little longer, I would have bought them online. I would suggest that if you have never worn ballet slippers before and you are not sure what your size is, to go to your local dance store and try some shoes out. This...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not true to size
The quality of the shoes seem fine. The color is ballet pink which is different from pastel pink so I found the color to be as I expected. However, the size is vastly different from street shoe size. I purchased them for my grand daughter who has a very narrow foot. I ordered size 3N which is 1/2 size larger than her street shoes she could not get her foot into the...

I wish I could have waited a little longer, I would have bought them online. I would suggest that if you have never worn ballet slippers before and you are not sure what your size is, to go to your local dance store and try some shoes out. This way you can figure out your size. I usually wear a 7.5 in streetshoes but need a 9.5 in these slippers!

Besides all this, these ballet slippers are an excellent deal. Great quality and excellent price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not true to size, October 13, 2010

The quality of the shoes seem fine. The color is ballet pink which is different from pastel pink so I found the color to be as I expected. However, the size is vastly different from street shoe size. I purchased them for my grand daughter who has a very narrow foot. I ordered size 3N which is 1/2 size larger than her street shoes she could not get her foot into the shoe. I ordered a second pair size 4 1/2N which fit perfectly. I did not have an option for exchange. I was unhappy with having to order another pair ship back the too small pair and wait for a credit to my credit card. Wish I had ordered from Zappos where shipping both ways is free and includes overnight shipping. Shoes cost only about $3.00 more at Zappos but would have been better in the long run.

I bought these for my 12 year old daughter who is trying ballet for the first time. Because she wears a 9.5 in women's sizes, and has a wide foot, I ordered a wide, 9.5 slipper. These slippers fit as your normal shoe size fits. I should of got the medium width, because their wide slippers are very wide, and now it's a little baggy on the outsides of her feet. Although it does have the elastic ties, it still doesn't help tighten it to fit snug. So if you have a wide foot, just order medium width, that should be wide enough. Other than that, this slipper is durable, and looks great. My daughter loved wearing them, and is enjoying her ballet classes.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT quality, LEATHER with Suede sole, fabric Man-Made Inner, July 20, 2011
By
This shoe is a high quality product of the Capezio Ballet Shoe, manufactured in Vietnam from Leather (upper) and Suede (sewn sole as shown). Contrary to other reviews, the ONLY man-made fabric/material is the inner lining, thread, strap and bow. These are genuine leather shoes.

BEWARE: Sizing is WAY off. See photos for comparison to size 3 street shoe for reality.

They come packaged in tissue paper and a small compact end flap box (not a "shoe box"), suitable for wrapping.

Pros -

-Excellent quality for the identical shoe costing $30+ at local outlets

-Leather+Suede with Fabric man-made breathable lining.

Cons -

Sizing is the only issue here. Consider fitting your Ballerina at a local store, and then ordering these shoes here, or at worst, adding 2 sizes to the "street shoe" size shown.

All in all the shoes are a great buy at the sub $25 price range, and smell like Ferrari's (Leather) out of the box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent dance shoes!, April 15, 2009

I bought these to have something to wear to belly dance class twice a week. They seem like they will be perfectly suitable for it. I got the same size I wear in street shoes and they are comfortable and fit well. The elastic straps seem secure and well-stitched into the shoe. The elastic drawstring is nice also. They should hold up well enough for my needs, and the price was nice. I've never done ballet, so I can't attest to how well they would hold up to that.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed/expected too much, June 19, 2009
I bought these for myself needing a full sole shoe rather quickly. I am an adult who bought 8m considering that is my street size. My feet to be average with occassional slippage in heel area. For that I did expect to have minimal fit problems but the heel strap & sides are way too big. The sides particularly gap which makes it annoying/unsightly. I would recommend bloch's danshoz over these in my opinion. Such a shame too, these are cute.

5.0 out of 5 stars Convert "Youth Size" to "Adult Size" before ordering, February 21, 2012
By
My daughters have been wearing this type of ballet shoe for years with no complaints. They're comfortable and reasonably good quality. I want to comment on the sizing issue, though. If you're buying for a child who wears a youth size 1 to 4.5 you must convert the size to an adult women's size by going up 2 sizes, otherwise it will be too small. So, for example, my older daughter wears a youth size 4 so she wears a size 6 in these shoes. My younger daughter wears a youth size 3 street shoe, so we order an adult women size 5 for her ballet shoes. Hope this helps someone :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Sizing is off, December 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are the first ballet shoes I have ever ordered online, and since the description says the sizing is the equivalent of street sizing, I ordered them in my regular size (8). They fit well, and they are comfortable. I have a wide foot, but I ordered these in a medium anyway thinking they'd just fit me extra snug. This shoe ended up being too wide and the sides gap even with the elastic band being adjusted so it looks unattractive. Overall the quality is good, so I'm not disappointed about that.

3.0 out of 5 stars GET THEM LONGER!, November 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received my 9.5 N ballet shoes today. Before ordering, I measured my foot from tip of big toe to end of heel.

Using that number, I decided to go a half size larger "just in case" some of the people who warned "too small" were talking about my kind of foot. Well, the shoes are even too small at half a size larger!! I always buy athletic shoes one whole size longer. If I buy these again, I will do that---so if you wear a 9, get a 10! The ballet shoes have the curved toe, and that design makes the big toe land on one of the short curved sides...well, mine anyway. Also, I have a very narrow heel, and they are too big in the heel...so too short and too wide a heel if you need a narrow size. However, I will keep them and maybe order a size 10N. Do measure your foot standing on a tape measurer, and to whatever size it says to get in the measurement instructions add one full size. I want to kick myself! : kkp

5.0 out of 5 stars True to size!!!, October 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Received these shoes yesterday. I got a white pair in 7.5 - my street shoe size. Just for comparison, all of my Adidas sneakers are women's 7.5. I was really worried, because some reviews indicated that the shoes run small. They fit PERFECTLY.

I got these for my Halloween costume, but now I plan to wear them around the house too.
