I dance Argentine Tango often, and was looking for a good pair of shoes to dance on slick floors with when I found these. The price was quite good, considering how much these usually cost and how much regular Tango shoes cost (upwards of $150).
I've had a lot of compliments on how they look, and I have to agree that they're quite beautiful, on and off. The quick-release buckle is also extremely handy (and does NOT come undone during dancing). One of the things that's annoyed me the most, though, is how quickly these ended up looking badly--I haven't been that rough on them, have only worn them about 5 times, and they're already really scuffed up and the toe area by the tip is fraying. If you want these pair of shoes to continue looking nice for longer than 5 uses, I would suggest getting the black leather pair, since the leather is less likely to look poor so quickly. I'm giving this shoe 4 stars instead of 3 only because I think the leather pair would be a much wiser and longer-lasting purchase. These run quite small, so make sure to order at LEAST a half size up. IF YOU HAVE WIDE FEET, make sure to order the wide width AS WELL as ordering a half size up! I did this, and the shoes fit perfectly and are very comfortable. They are quite short lengthwise, though, so be prepared to expect that--this is pretty standard for ballroom shoes, though. The tip stops just barely past the ends of my toes. Also: I would suggest only using these on EXTREMELY slick/polished floors--if the surface isn't extremely smooth, it can be easy to get caught in a step with these because of the suede soles.

I have worn Capezio dance shoes my entire dance career and felt confident that when I returned to dancing that these would also be of exceptional quality. My fiance and I are taking dance lessons in preparation for our Spring wedding. I thought it would be appropriate to have the right kind of shoes. I already went to a dance store in town and knew that I would need a 1/2 size bigger than what I normally wear. After 10 minutes of wearing these shoes, my feet were killing me and we have a 2 hour class! I even tried to 'break them in' and wore them to the next class. Still no relief and I wear heels regularly. I was very disappointed. I don't feel like there is any support. I will never buy dance shoes online again and I certainly can't bring myself to buy ballroom shoes from Capezio after this huge disappointment. It's worth forking out $20 bucks more for the shoes I tried on in town...this was a total waste of money. What happened to the quality brand I knew and loved growing up?
