Bought these for a tap-intensive musical. Out of the box: stap too big, used an awl to create a new hole, and had to trim off about 2.5 inches of excess strap hanging off the shoe because it looked so weird. Heel was the right height - but not very flattering to my foot/leg (oh well). The sound was not "extreme," either - sounds were thin and weak, had to loosen the tap plates a little, after which they sounded much better. HOWEVER - the shank on one of them BROKE at my third rehearsal! Granted, the rehearsals were pretty intense, but still - you pay this much for a shoe, it should LAST and be able to meet the demands of a serious dancer. Not especially impressed.

The shoes look great. I put in little arch support inserts. The post for the buckle fell off the first week, and I had to take them to a shoe repair. That's why I didn't give them a 5 star. I had to have the shoe repairman put in 2 extra holes as well, but my feet tend to run narrowish. (Maybe it's the not so great arches.) I love the way they look and the sound is clean.

These shoes are excellent. The heel is fairly tall but manageable. They look and sound great! However they run narrow but over time the leather will stretch a little bit. Mine were too tight at first but are much better now.

Nice tap shoe... good sounds, but definitely not extreme sounding. The shoe fits true to street size, but i had to punch an extra hole in the strap for it to fit, which is strange because the shoe itself is pretty narrow, but the strap was way too big for my foot. It is nice that the taps are already attached with a rubber pad on the sole for more stability.

I ordered a size 7.5 M US based on my shoe street size. They were returned for a size 8 M US to get the extra length needed. They are now perfect. I had to add a couple new holes in the strap which was not a big deal. The quality of the shoe is very nice. I attend adult tap class and had previously been wearing flat tap shoes. This shoe is a much more attractive look. They are very comfortable without socks. I would order them again. I am however adjusting to tapping in heels vs flats.

First of all...these run on the small side. I'm an 8.5 to size 9 and I ordered a 9. I put them on and realized I may have needed a size 9.5 except then they would have been to big. As it was I was going to have to create more holes on the strap to mold to my foot. Went into rehearsal and within 15 minutes I realized I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT WEAR THEM A MINUTE LONGER!. I have to admit I'm an older dancer (ex professional) and my feet are on the skinny side and these shoes hit me in all the wrong places. I started to rack it up to being a bit older than the rest of the cast only to discover one of the 20' somethings in the cast was also having the exact same trouble. Fortunately I was able to sell them to a fellow dancer and now I have to start over again. I will say they are an attractive looking shoe, handy with the taps and half rubber sole in place and at a desirable price. When you purchase these wear them around the house for at least 20 minutes before hitting the dance floor to make sure they're going to be a good fit for you.
