5.0 out of 5 stars A great shoe!
This is an excellent ghillie shoe for Irish soft shoe dancers. It came laced up the wrong way for Irish Feis dancing, but it was no trouble to fix. The price is quite reasonable, much more so than the Irish dance shoe web sites. The leather is soft and it is just an all around good dance shoe. After all, Capezio has been in the dance shoe business for years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too small Ghillies
These shoes are good value for money. However they run very small. The first pair I bought were a half a size larger (6.5) than my normal shoe size (6) but they were still too small. I tried stretching them to no avail. I then bought a second pair and bought a size 7.5 which fit, with a sock on or an insole in, "comfortable". I would have given them a better rating...

2.0 out of 5 stars A Big Disappointment, January 24, 2012
I bought these shoes in September when I began student teaching Irish step dance and wanted to have the right footwear (I had previously been using regular jazz shoes.)I thought these looked like a good alternative to real ghillies, which could price around $50 minimum. The first thing I noticed was they were a bit tight for my size (I'm a 7, and I ordered a 7 1/2), but it wasn't too bad, so I kept them. It is now January, a mere 5 months later, and I discovered a tear in the bottom of the shoe the other day, where the sole is attached to the rest of the shoe. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the sole had been glued to the shoe, not sewn on. It was no wonder they tore. Very cheap quality, even for the price. Capezio is a well known brand, but apparently only for what they know. I have had not problems with their ballet slippers or other shoes. This was a big disappointment for me. I am not happy to have to replace them so soon, and I am not replacing them with this brand.

I was not sure how these were going to be but I found them to be perfect and just what I was looking for. They are very comfortable and look very nice.
