These shoes are definitely comfortable. No breaking in required.
The fact that the toe tap is recessed down to be more level with the
rest of the sole makes you have to put more effort into getting
the toe tap sound. For that reason I prefer my other Capezio tap shoes that
have the tap directly on top of the sole. But this shoe is good Capezio
quality otherwise.

Unlike what the description says, these shoes are true to size. I purchased these for my daughter who normally wears an 8. Since it stated to go a half a size bigger, I ordered an 8 1/2. The shoe was too large, even if she put on a pair of thick socks. I sent them back to exchange the size.

Other than the size problems, the shoe is absolutely beautiful. My daughter states they are extremely comfortable and I could tell by all the cushions on the insole. The leather is soft and it comes with a non-slip heel.

everything was perfect. I received the product before the dates I was informed. I am so excited! and very happy!

I found a store locally where I could try on a pair prior to purchase. I wear a 5.5 normally and a 6 felt right about right. I don't think I could go down to a 5.5. It might be worth finding a place locally to try on brands and sizes and then purchase from Amazon. The cost for this same shoe in the store was nearly $70. MUCH cheaper on Amazon. But sizing seems a little iffy.

Capezio Women's 561 Tap Jr. Footlight Tap ShoeBought this because the price was really good. Unfortunately, the shoe was an off color lot and it didn't fit my foot. I normally wear an 8.5 but a friend told me they run small so I ordered a 9 but it did not fit. It was a bit too long, not so long that a 8.5 would have fit, I tried. On the upside the wider more angular cut at the base of the toes allowed the shoe to be more comfortable but it also made it more loose.

Don't buy these shoes .5 size larger than street. It's almost one whole size larger! Go with your street shoe size, or a .5 size smaller if you're in doubt. I love the shoes though!!
