Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Gr. 2-4. The second title in the Capital Mysteries series (a Road to Reading book) finds K. C. Corcoran and her best friend Marshall Li searching Washington, D.C., for K. C.'s mom and President Zacary Thornton, who mysteriously disappear while the two kids are buying ice cream at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Off the children go, searching buildings on both sides of the Mall and following clues that lead them inside the National Air and Space Museum. In a crazy plot that features a presidential clone, bold janitors and disgruntled astronauts, K. C and Marshall solve the perplexing conundrum. This is a fun, accessible mystery for new readers. Attractive gray-wash illustrations appear throughout, and a map of the nation's capital is included. Kathy Broderick

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun stories with a bit of knowledge thrown in for good measure., January 15, 2008
This review is from: Capital Mysteries #2: Kidnapped at the Capital (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (Paperback)
My 8-year-old son has enjoyed this book series very much. The reading level is comfortably easy for him and he enjoys solving the mysteries. It keeps him reading and even teaches him some facts at the same time. I recommend this whole series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but short, January 9, 2012

Downloaded this book for our 7 year old daughter who is quite a good reader. She read it in 10 minutes. My point is that if you do not mind spending $5 for a 10 minute read then off you go. I am looking for a longer book for the next read however...
