4.0 out of 5 stars One of Ron Roy's Best Books, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Capital Mysteries #7: Trouble at the Treasury (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (Paperback)
This was an interesting book that I liked a lot. There are two main characters who are kids: KC, the President's step-daughter, and Marshall, who lives in an apartment building near the Supreme Court. Someone robbed the Treasury, and they try to figure out who did it. They get a tour of the Treasury and a lot of help from a clone of the President. Kids who like the A-Z Mysteries will like this book. (As told by John, age 7.)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Little Book, #7, Capital Mysteries "Trouble at the Treasury", January 26, 2011
This review is from: Capital Mysteries #7: Trouble at the Treasury (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (Paperback)
"Trouble at the Treasury" is a fun little book to read. It is an elementary chapter book.

KC, the main character, and her best friend, Marshall, get a tour of the BEP, the division that makes, prints, stamps, cuts, etc. paper money. They were awed and amazed at all that money being produced. They then went to a nearby little cafe to get some hot chocolate. KC notices people and things and details because she wants to be a reporter after college.

When they get back to KC's home, they find out that money has been stolen from the BEP, even though the tour guide assured them that money theft from the BEP is impossible because of security cameras, etc.

Was it just a counting error? Or did someone really steal money from the BEP? (If they did, I sure feel sorry for that person - I'm sure the punishment for that crime would probably be as bad as the death penalty.) KC and Marshall go on a mission to solve this mystery. KC's remembering details helps a lot.

Wonderful book. Highly recommended.
