5.0 out of 5 stars Very Addictive Empire Builder
Capitalism II is an old game (it will run on Windows 98), which means that the graphics are not great and it is pretty limited in other ways as well, but it also means that it is light weight. And this is a definite plus for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money.
This game is lame. Its interface is poor and playing on newer machines will make it virtually impossible to play. There aren't enough good instructions on how to play and unless you are the most crazed capitalist then this game won't hold your interest. I am in the finance profession and this game did not hold mine.

Capitalism II is an old game (it will run on Windows 98), which means that the graphics are not great and it is pretty limited in other ways as well, but it also means that it is light weight. And this is a definite plus for me.

Capitalism II is a financial empire builder, with a pretty extensive tutorial system. I am not finished with the tutorials, and have failed many of them a few times each (learning each time). This game is very addictive. I got it two days earlier than I was supposed to, and I am writing this review 2 days late because i have spent way too much time playing this game. As old as this game is, I have stayed up until 4am playing it.

If the idea of starting off with a small store or just a little money, and growing your company into a monstrous corporation appeals to you, then you should give this game a try. Among the many things that are possible with this game, you can use the stock market to take over your competition, and then use their money to take out other competitors as they pop up. You can build many things ranging from mines and farms, to huge factories producing computers and even automobiles (among many other things), along with the retail stores or show rooms to sell them in. And I left out apartment buildings, R&D centers, and a few more. It does not get too far into micro managing. And, with as much as it does have going on, I am very glad of that.

I hope this review has been helpful. And LOL I hope it made sense, as I have once again stayed up way too late playing this game. LOL
