From Booklist

Skye Crawford quits her job with a nonprofit organization in Chicago and considers a surprising offer from her ex-fiance: he asks her to join his campaign for Congress as a PR consultant. He is running as a Democrat against a popular Republican incumbent. Skye isn't really that interested, but he says he's got dirt on his opponent that will blow him out of the race, so she agrees to meet her ex in Washington, D.C., only to discover that he has committed suicide, or, rather, it's supposed to look as though he did. Determined to find out what really happened, Skye meets Congressman Darren Birch, a black conservative who is charming, good-looking, and seemingly honest. Darren and Skye are very attracted to each other, but Skye can't dismiss evidence that points to his involvement in nefarious deeds. By the time she finally decides to believe in him, it's almost too late. Winters' latest winning romance is filled with politics, scandal, and intrigue, making for a compelling read. Maria Hatton

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read!, November 1, 2005

I am a huge fan of Ms. Winters and find myself reading and loving all her books. The story of liberal Skye and conservative Darren was great! They had such opposing opinions on many issues that made their relationship even more interesting. I loved how their anger turned into even greater passion. Their first love scene was like WOW!!! It is sad that Skye and Darren's relationship had to suffer because of her ex Jeff's murder, but Skye felt loyalty towards Jeff and the desire to find his murderer. Eventually, Skye stood by her man no matter how many times the evidence pointed in his direction, and they had me rooting for them all the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Intrigue On The Hill", October 3, 2006
This review is from: Capitol Affair (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the second novel of Ms. Winters' that I have read and I have to say that I liked it. It was slow in the beginning and the chapters were long, but the more I read the more I wanted to know how things turned out. The characters were interesting and the storyline was good. The love scenes between Skye and Darren ....HOT-HOT-HOT!!!Good novel.
