Because much of their late 70's success came from uptempo, groove-oriented material they cut for Capitol records, the five brothers who made up the group Tavares have often been misidentified as a dance music outfit. As this collection reveals, Tavares was as well-versed in both the soulful tradition of R&B and the slick sound of pop music as they were in the more trendy, disco-laden sounds that helped catapult them to mainstream success. This CD is outstanding and captures the unknown diversity of this group with a compilation of their greatest tunes of the 70's and 80's, a definite "must-have" for true fans.

This CD is the Very best of the lot of all the collections. I already own the cassette of this album. I've pretty much worn it out, so I buying the CD version. The long-versions of Heaven.... and Don't take away the Music gets this collection off to a great start. Whodunnit is a great song that reminds us of the old detective shows. There is hardly a dud on this CD. A GREAT buy.

This is a best kept secret among soul enthusiasts. Tavares is perhaps the most underrated vocal group of all-time. These five men -- all brothers -- can flat out sing with anybody, anywhere!

I LOVE THIS WHOLE CD. THIS IS A GREAT CD DONE BY SOME GREAT SINGERS. I LOVE THESE SONGS. THIS WAS A REALLY GREAT GROUP; MANY PEOPLE DID REMAKES OF THEIR MUSIC. I LIKE ALL OF THE SONGS ON THIS CD. THIS CD MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD WHEN R&B WAS GOOD MUSIC. I LIKE THIS GROUP THEY SING WELL AND THE LYRICS ARE VERY NICE AS WELL. I ENJOY THIS WHOLE CD AND I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO LIKES TAVARES OR CLASSIC R&B TO BUY THIS ALBUM YOU WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY IT.

These brothers can really sing and deliver a vibe! Too bad they were much overlooked by the mainstream. Soul music lovers had them all to themselves. They were fabulous and much underrated!
