About the Author

Mild-mannered but dangerous cartoonist Pete Von Sholly s newest effort is the outrageous REPUGLICANS (Boom! Town). He first made his name creating underground comix, collaborating with the likes of Timothy Leary back in the early 70s. Since then he s made a semi-respectable living creating Hollywood storyboards for countless film directors, such as Frank Darabont (The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption) and Tim Burton (Mars Attacks!) while producing fumetti graphic novels like The Flying F *ck, and the cultish Extremely Weird Tales for Dark Horse Comics. But tired of respect and no doubt seeking to secure a better paying political patronage job following the 2008 elections, Mr. Von Sholly decided to cozy up to America s most famous politicians with his amusing politician love letter, CAPITOL HELL, while there is still a 1st Amendment to protect him.

Writing the bulk of the card captions came easy for Denis Kitchen, also an underground cartoonist and a veteran publisher (Kitchen Sink Press), whose last foray into campaign year tomfoolery was 1992 when he published Republicans Attack!, a card set ballyhooed by The New York Times and sold at the Democratic National Convention. This time a satiric mirror is held to both parties. The Oddly Compelling Art of Denis Kitchen is new from Dark Horse Books.

I love to send cards to friends and family and these cards were selected for the more radical political members that I write. They cover so many political figures - I can send a dig at Democrats, Republicans and those outside party lines. Everyone who has received one has had a good laugh at the card he received and there were no hard feelings. Amazon has EVERYTHING! I love it!
