If you are a beginner in capoeira (like me) or if you want to see how a different group trains, this is a good video. They do a good job of covering many different aspects of capoeira in what appears to be a typical class. They begin with a discussion of the berimbau and the music. Then they do stretching before moving into basic moves. Afterward they demonstrate some more advanced moves and have a very energetic roda. They also show some atypical moves and takedowns and demonstrate maculele. A word of caution: I originally ordered the DVD and it was incompatible with my DVD player. I exchanged it thinking maybe it was a bad disc and got the same result. Eventually I had to go to the publisher of the disc and they gladly exchanged it for the VHS tape. If not for that I would give it 5 stars.

I loved this video because It shows what the real capoeira is all about, weather you are a capoeirista or not, beginner or advanced! It has unique techniques never seen in any other capoeira tape out there....the music and girls are amazing too...a must watch |
