This is a beautiful dining set, It is made with a very sturdy wood. The problem areas were the chairs, they were difficult to assemble for many reasons and some of the legs were not flush. All in all this is a beautiful set. You will need two people to help stand this table upright after you assemble the legs because it is extremely heavy.

I will look to this company for other items in the future.

This is actually a nice-looking dining set. Unfortunately, we were unable to keep it. Here is why:

At first glance, it looked as if it arrived in good condition (the visible part of the tabletop--not the leaf--was in good shape). As we unpacked it, my husband noted that the workmanship below the table was very poor. The table is designed to expand to accommodate the leaf, or slide together when the leaf is not needed. The butterfly leaf is designed to fold and store below the table when not in use.

The first thing we noticed is that the guide and track that allow the table to slide apart and together was not put together correctly. The guide was not sitting completely in the tracks, and the tracks were not parallel to the guide. This prevented the table from functioning as it should--it could not expand at all.

The second thing we noticed is that the track is in poor shape. The wood was splintered, compromising the integrity of the mechanism. It felt very loose, and the table has not even had any use! These first two problems should have been obvious to the person assembling it or a quality control checker.

The third problem is that the leaf was not attached (it was supposed to be). It appeared that it was attached at one point. We could see the glue residue and holes where the screws ripped out, but when it arrived, it was not attached to anything. It was just loosely sitting below the table.

The fourth problem is that, when we finally got a good look at the leaf, we noticed two areas on the tabletop surface (near the hinges) where the wood chipped. Since the color is lighter beneath the surface, it is unsightly.

We totally would have kept the table and chairs if it had come assembled well and without chips on the leaf. However, the combination of poor assembly, defective materials, and damage, caused us to send it back.

On the plus side, when I was able to reach someone in the company (for some reason, my communication through Amazon.com didn't go through, so I had to look up the company directly and try a couple different contact methods before I made contact), the customer service representative was very responsive and helpful. She promptly responded to e-mails, arranged for return shipping, and for a full refund, which we received within a couple days of sending the table back.

We would have simply exchanged the defective table for another one, but work took us out of the country for several months shortly after the first table arrived. Since we wouldn't have a chance to personally assemble the replacement table for a couple months after it would arrive, Vision Decor said it would be better to return it now and repurchase at a later date.
