From the Publisher

During the 1990s societies around the world watched with fascination as the espresso era and cappuccino years evolved. The conservative cup of coffee as we knew it had been transformed forever. A confusing world of steaming, swirling coffee concoctions made its way into our hearts - and pocketbooks!! Many thought this espresso explosion was a trend. Clearly, for the caffeination generation of coffee drinkers, specialty coffee drinks have now become "a lifestyle"!

Similarily, the traditional martini has become a classic cocktail around the world. From the Great Depression to the debonair 'Rat Pack' era to 'Sex and the City' popularity, martinis have found a permanent home in many hearts - and liquor cabinets! Sippable, social scenes have offered stylish, colorful coktails and mocktails (non-alcoholic and alcoholic). Syrups have become a popular way to flavor mocktails, perk up sodas and infuse innovative flavors into our coffee cups.

Just when we thought cappuccinos, cocktails, mocktails, mochaccinos and marinis couldn't get sassier and sexier, the world's stage is now set to introduce a new beverage brew - THE COFFEE & ESPRESSO MARTINI !

Similar to the beginnings of the espresso era, coffee martini meccas and espresso martini parties were shaking and stirring up this new coffee fashion across America: Boston, Silicon Valley, Seattle and Vancouver, etc. Today, there are a proliferation of restaurants, bars and pubs which offer various Coffee & Espresso Martinis on their menus. From traditional coffee shops to today's coffee pubs and martini cares, coffee bartenders have officially emerged. Syrup manufacturers are pouring out and mix-mastering innovative, indulgent coffee martini recipes. Coffee-lovers everywhere are becoming their own baristas creating "extreme espresso coffee sippables" and "liquid desserts" at home!

The mixtures of caffeine, creams, syrups and liquor (optional) served in a sleek and sophisticated martini glass are shaking up the social sipping scenes. Similar in concept, combining the caffeine for energy, syrups 'n' spirits for, well...spririt - will certainly take YOU up a notch!! (Not to mention the double buzz your body gets!) Shaken, stirred, straight up or on the rocks, the COFFEE and ESPRESSO MARTINI promises to stir up your caffeination imagination and excite your palate.

Just like your cup of coffee, the COFFEE MARTINI can be very personal. Some people like strong, some sweet, some flavorful, some traditional. Coffee Martini recipes range from the basic to involving innumberable combinations of coffee (or espresso), cream, the omnipresent vodka and coffee liqueurs for alcoholic recipes, the flavor divas - hazelnut, almond, vanilla, caramel and chocolate syrups. Satisfy your coffee curiosity and start stirring up these liquid libations in your own kitchen-cafe or establishment.

No doubt, as strange as it sounds at first, the Coffee & Espresso Martini is an idea whose time has come. Like the espresso/cappuccino drinks, this weird 'n' wonderful new "coffee martini" offspring is here to stay. THE COFFEE & ESPRESSO MARTINI - a matter of today's trend turning into tomorrow's tradition. COFFEE & ESPRESSO MARTINI recipes are now included in this UPDATED & REVISED Cappuccino Cocktails & Coffee Martinis guide/recipe/giftbook - The COFFEE GIFTBOOK that "SMELLS LIKE COFFEE"! Awesome! This book will get you hooked on coffee if you aren't already. There is background information on growing, harvesting, and roasting along with wonderful recipes. Very helpful even if you don't have an expresso machine. You will find directions on how to make coffee drinks without the machine. Well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... Very well done, November 26, 2005
This review is from: Cappucino Cocktails Specialty Coffee Recipes (Paperback)
It was the cover that caught my attention initially, as it suggests quality. And this is one case where you CAN judge a book by its cover!

The author has done an impressive job presenting coffee-related beverages, but this book is much more than that. I can't imagine a more definitive and entertaining read on the subject of the humble coffee bean. Folklore, photography, humour, great recipes... simply an excellent read. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
