This 4-cup lidded glass carafe functions as a replacement carafe for the Capresso 302.01 "mini-s" espresso/cappuccino machine, in addition to other brands of mini steam espresso machines. The glass carafe provides an easy-grip handle, a drip-free pour spout, and markings that help in the preparation of brewing and frothing. The upper rim of the metal band marks the maximum capacity of the "mini-s" coffeemaker's boiler (approximately 11 ounces). The carafe's 4-cup marking notes the maximum amount of espresso to brew (approximately 8 ounces) without the coffee tasting burnt. Its 2-cup marking (approximately 4 ounces) serves as a guideline for a double shot of espresso. Once the coffee has reached the steam mark, there's enough pressure in the boiler for steaming and frothing. Clean the glass carafe and its lid in a solution of hot water and mild soap. For convenience, the glass carafe can be put in the dishwasher's upper level, away from any heating element (remove lid before placing in dishwasher). The replacement carafe measures approximately 7-1/5 by 3-4/5 by 4-1/5 inches.

this is a suitable replacement for my Krups machine. The glass feels flimsy so it may break before I get much use from it(like the krups version did) The fit under the spout is a little tight but not overly so. Overall it works for my purposes.

It's a useful replacement for the carafe I broke though for some reason it leaks more than the original when I'm pouring the coffee.

Krups improved its little espresso maker coffee pot by designing the lid so that it stays on while the pot is being poured out. This will help prevent a mess and burns. The new handle allows for a better grip. Though the pot itself is tempered glass, it can still be damaged by careless contact with hard surfaces.
