I bought this item as a gift, and the people absolutely love it. It is especially great for older people, as they can see when the water is boiling, and it has an automatic shut off feature. It also looks nice which is an added bonus.

The product work great. Heating is much faster than stove-top, and it has auto shut-off feature so you don't need to watch it. Tow problem with this unit: 1) The top part is plastic, chrome plated, and it's cracked, and peeled off after few months. 2) I bought unit in Nov/2009, used it one/twice per day with reversed-osmosis water filter, and the unit broke in Dec (one-year 1-week, and it's out of 1-year warranty :=(
Everything look fine, except the burner failed. I may buy it again since I cannot find anything that look better
than this, but I wish it could last a bit longer for $60 product

I recieved this kettle as a gift about a year ago. Now the top part of the handle is warped and the hinge broke. If you do not remove the lid before pouring the lid will fall off. If you leave the lid off it will boil but does not want to shut off. I was not able to find a parts site for replacemnt parts.
Having the lid fall off while pouring poses the danger of being burned.

I wanted a cordless kettle where water was not in contact with hot plastic. Found this, and bought it for home and office.

Faster than

This is a great kettle: it is fast (2-3 minutes to get boiling water, much faster than stove top), furious (the picture of boiling water is accurate), and definitely fun to watch. The only complaint is volume; a full kettle does not quite fill my 6-cup teapot. (I have found that when I brew tea the pot must be filled, or there is odd-taste to the tea).
