5.0 out of 5 stars Grind & Brew Perfection
Want a grind & brew coffee maker that gets it right? This is it. Conical Burr grinder, 200 degree brewing tempurature, 8 minute brew cycle. Adjustable grind corseness, adjustable strength. Use fresh roasted coffee (my favorite is Caffe Pronto Bronco Blend) & clean fresh water & you have a perfect cup of coffee. A little more expensive than other grind & brews, but...

2.0 out of 5 stars Longevity and Repair Issues
This machine works great when it works, however it strains to expel the used coffee grounds and eventually fails. You get a non-helpful "Error #8" message and have to unplug/plugin the machine to reset and try again.

Contact Customer Service when you have plenty of time to be on hold. You will be told to use a coarser grind setting. If that doesn't work (as...

If that doesn't work (as if limiting the capabilities of the machine is a solution), you have to send the machine in for a $250 repair. It doesn't matter what's wrong with the machine, it's $250 for all repairs.
I'm online now looking for a replacement with more reliability. I see some machines touting a removeable brewing unit specifically for cleaning and maintaining the machine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Caution - Burrs not Accessible for Cleaning or Service, July 18, 2010
This review is from: Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm Coffee Machine w/grinder
For some reason Capresso has decided to make all of their all-in-one grinder / brewers with the burr grinders locked away inside where they can not be cleaned, inspected and replaced when needed.

We own this very same Capresso Grinder / Brewer and finally found all of the hidden screws to remove to allow thorough cleaning of the grinder. The hardest part is figuring out how to dismantle their puzzle. Unfortunately Capresso has also decided to refuse to sell parts for the machine, except for items such as lids and carafes.

Recently our coffee seemed weak. I had just totally cleaned both burrs and everything was as clean as new. I found the problem to be dull burrs which slowed down the grind speed producing less coffee grounds and thus weak coffee. I replaced the burrs with a set from our Capresso 560 grinder and now we've got full strength coffee again.

The problem I now face is that Capresso REFUSES to sell the lower burr, the one that is the dullest. They consider this an internal part. I now have a useless $80 grinder that I sacrificed to save a $200 coffee maker.

I have called Capresso several times trying to find a way to buy a complete burr set and was appalled by the attitude, arrogance and rudeness of the people on the phone that got incensed when I did not happily accept their answer "We do not sell internal parts." They were not helpful at all and worse yet, did not seem to care. I don't think they do, at least not the people I could get in contact with.

We like out CoffeeTeam better than we like the company.

Capresso, very disappointing to deal with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Coffemaker but Not Strong Enough, September 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm Coffee Machine w/grinder
This is a nice quality coffeemaker. It looks good and is easy to operate. The only problem I've had is that the strongest setting is still weak (if you like coffee about as strong as Starbucks). As a result, I've had to set it on 10 cups but only add 8 cups of water to get it right. If I have company and need to have a full pot of 10 I add extra grounds to the the filter to compensate. It makes me wonder if the grinder adjustment is not working or not grinding finely enough.

Very happy with this model grind & brew coffe maker. Only downside is that the bean(s) container is smaller than previous model & holds less beans. We find that it has to be refilled after every other pot brewed at 10 cups.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid machine, April 28, 2010
This review is from: Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm Coffee Machine w/grinder
I have had this coffee maker for three years and have never had a single issue with it. It's simple to use and makes great coffee. I especially like the setting on the grinder that lets you choose how fine you'd like the coffee bean ground. It's definitely an investment but well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best coffeemaker ,ever!, March 23, 2009

My new Capresso CoffeeTeam Thermal is the absolutely best coffee maker I've owned in more than 60 years of buying and grinding the best quality beans.
The entire process is superb: it is quick and easy to program and combines a perfect burr grinder with a perfect brewing mahcine and a perfect carafe. My two "old" Capresso 454s are relegated to storage as backups. I am impressed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great machine!! Bad Customer Service., June 14, 2009
I have had this machine for over 3 years and it makes great coffee, espresso and such. It has issues with grounds, the ground built up easily on the inside and you have to reach inside and rub the grounds off the parts inside the machine. This is what customer service told me the 1st time I called about an issue, it worked, but if you know there is a problem fix it in future machines. I called about a error 8 message and I was out of warranty and was given the stock send it in and for 250.00 we'll repair it. I found if I get the grounds out from the insides the error 8 goes away, the ground gum up the moving parts inside. You think if your spending good money on a machine the company would want to keep you customers and make amends. They have a stock answer, no apologizes or even we'll give you a trade in credit to buy a newer better built machine. Next machine will not be a capresso for this reason alone. Again Great machine bad follow up by company

1.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful as long as it works, February 23, 2009

Jura-Capresso 13187 Impressa E8 Super-Automatic Espresso Machine, Black

I have had three of these machines, and most recently bought two so I would have one that would function while the other was being rebuilt. Even that was not enough since both are now non-functional and I am using a Bosch. This machine is superb, easy to use and produces excellent espresso when it works, but it fails quickly. During a two year warranty count on sending it back at least once. Otherwise buy another more durable machine. Now there are some excellent Nespresso choices that eliminate much of the grinding problems that seem to destroy the Jura machines so quickly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ill-designed machine!, October 14, 2008
By
TwinsMom (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm Coffee Machine w/grinder
My husband did some research and bought this grinder/coffee maker for me for Mother's Day. I love nice, strong coffee, but this machine is ill-designed. We tried it for two weeks straight and had nothing but problems. The coffee grounds would not travel all the way down into the basket for brewing and there is no control for coffee strength. My husband called the manufacturer about this and was told to decrease the water amount for stronger coffee! You've got to be kidding! Also, the carafe barely kept the coffee warm after an hour. We returned it and bought a Cuisinart Grind & Brew (with Burr grinder) for about half the price of this machine. The Cuisinart has been a dream!!! Don't waste your money with this machine.
