failed twice, January 20, 2011
This review is from: Capresso 585 Disk Type 14OZ. Burr Grinder Outfit With Coffee Grinder Cleaner
The first grinder failed after a few months. Capresso replaced it with a new one which broke a year later. The chute would clog constantly if not totally cleaned every 2 weeks.I do not recommend this product.

6 months in, ready to move on, November 23, 2010
This review is from: Capresso 585 Disk Type 14OZ. Burr Grinder Outfit With Coffee Grinder Cleaner
This grinder was supposed to be an upgrade from a DeLonghi burr grinder, but as I'm now limited to cleaning every day and sporadic performance, I will be moving on. As we use oily, fresh coffee beans, usually a french roast whole bean from Starbucks, I look forward to a strong but smooth cup or two in the morning. With this grinder, I am now limited to buying ground coffee as the grinder will not run. It's obvious to me the design of this product is such that the beans and coffee clog up the grinder, preventing an even grind and as is the case now, no grind. I was grudgingly okay with daily cleaning(something I never had to do with the DL) but even with that, coffee was clogging up the maching and stopping it from working. I have yet to contact the maker, which I may do, but seems like from another post this may not be worthwhile.

Poor customer service, April 6, 2010
This review is from: Capresso 585 Disk Type 14OZ. Burr Grinder Outfit With Coffee Grinder Cleaner
I was slow to buy this coffee grinder because of the price. I went ahead and the grinder arrived on time. Two weeks later I began to have problems with it. I called the company and was told me I had inserted the grinding burr up-side-down. I was advised how to reset the coffee maker, the grinding burr was pulled out and inserted the correct way. It did not work. The Capresso rep. told me they would repair the grinder with no charges and send a pre-paid shipping label. Two weeks went by and I received a letter telling me I was eligible for a free repair. NO SHIPPING LABEL. I called another rep. who said I would receive the free mailing label in a day or two since it was mailed by a different department. I waited another 10 days and called them re:NO SHIPPING LABEL. I was informed that it had not been mailed and would be "over-nighted to me in "MAYBE" a day or two." I really feel Amazon should not carry this product. No idea when I might grind my own coffee beans again.
