2.0 out of 5 stars Regret getting it
This was our second light weight stroller that we bought when our first child was 24 months old. Our major reasons purchasing it were the reclining capability, light weight, rain cover, big wheels, wider seats and much lower price tag than the other popular ones (such as Combi, Maclaren and Peg Perego). We thought we got a real good deal for the money... but now the child...

I bought this stroller to use in the airport and back home visiting relatives. I love how sturdy this felt while being lightweight at the same time! It is durable, made it through two major airports, and bounced around our SUV. I love the 5 point harness since our 8 month old daughter is short and petite and I felt like the 3 point harness was not secure enough ( we had considered the Trendsport Light). The other stroller did not feel sturdy when we rolled it around the store plus our daughter looked like she would outgrow it soon.I recommend this to people looking for a lightweight stroller for the mall, walks in the park, and a backup in the car. Love the fabric and has withstood feedings and trips outdoors. Only thing I wish is we had gotten the one with the rain cover.

Folds compactly, easy to work, our seven month old son does well in it. We use it most frequently for walking the dog in our neighborhood, and we haven't experienced any problems on bumpy sidewalks. It's also nice in stores and malls where larger strollers won't fit.

Wipes off easily, seems sturdy.

Haven't used the rain cover.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Buy! Highly Recommend!, February 13, 2005

This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
I bought this stroller and I love it! My son who is only 18 months old is a big boy he fits perfectly in this stroller. I loved the design on it it looks like a very pricey stroller, for the price it's worth it. I went out today with him in it I had to take the train. I went downtown (I live in New York) and I was able to walk up and down the train steps like if it was nothing, my son is about 27 pounds already.

Cons:
*Great design (I bought mine in red)
*The seat is wide enough even with his coat on he comfortable in it.
*The wheels are a good size
*Height wise great! I'm tall so I don't have to bend over
*It has a small storage basket which is great.

I don't have any con's.

I highly recommend this stroller! Light weight, Stylish!

4.0 out of 5 stars overall satisfied, November 2, 2005
This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
First let me say that I was looking for a lite weight stroller so that I could travel with my 8 month old son around town catching a bus and a ferry boat while my husband is at work. (I love my Metro lite by Graco, but that was not going to cut it) So, after weeks of looking everywhere, b/c I am a bargain shopper... I found this, and I am very satisfied with it. I needed a lot of features on my umbrella stroller and this does it for me, AND I don't have a problem holding my son and setting up, or breaking down the stroller when its just me and him.

Pros
very lite weight; compact, carrying strap, love the padded board for my son's back, so he is not slouching, recline position is good, for an umbrella stroller, easy material to clean, good canopy with pockets to store stuff, and even a basket underneath, 5 point harness is great especially since my son thinks he has wings, so it keeps him secure, and keeps me sane; with a little practice you can hold your kid in one hand and set up or break down the stroller with the other.
These are the things that were a must for me to purchase an umbrella stroller. It is also durable and I will have it for years to come. My husband likes using it too.
Also it comes with a matching carrying case (bag), although I never use it, I do use the clear plastic bag that it came in (about the size of a small purse), that attaches to the stroller. Its great, I keep my infant soft carrier in that, and we are still mobile if I need my hands free on the bus or the boat.
Cons
Anyway, I really like this stroller, but I do hit my feet on the wheels sometimes, because I think the handles could be a little bit longer, and I am only 5'2", also, the other con is the handles could be padded, but hey its only 50 bucks, I mean thats getting a little greedy. And this is coming from a picky person.

Works great...and NO Assembling required!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good All-Purpose Stroller, September 17, 2005

I was looking for a lightweight stroller that wouldn't take up too much room in my trunk. I HATE large, clunky strollers, and never did get a full-size stroller for my daughter. Now that she's 4 months old and holding up her head, sitting up supported, I thought she was ready for this stroller. I was pleased to find a lightweight stroller with a 5 point harness, since my baby is still little.

I love that it has a shoulder strap, because I live in a second floor apartment. After a little practice, I can very easily open and close this stroller with one hand and a foot. So I can carry this stroller down the stairs over my shoulder with my daughter in both arms, and then unfold it while still holding her in one arm. I would NOT feel comfortable doing that with any other sroller.

It's a great looking stroller, too. I love the bright red, and it stays clean easily. The pockets on the side of the canopy are perfect for my keys, cell phone, wallet, etc. It's true that very little will fit in the basket underneath, but I don't really mind carrying my diaper bag over my shoulder. "Umbrella" strollers don't typically have any storage at all, so I would probably have bought this stroller without any basket at all, and still not been dissapointed.

My only complaint is that the handles are a little low. I'm 5'7", and while the handles appear to be at a comfortable height for me, I can't walk far enough behind the stroller to keep from kicking the wheels from time to time. My husband has an even worse time with it, because he's 6'. But we're getting better at adjusting our stride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sturdy Stroller, August 2, 2004

This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
This is a great alternative to those flimsy umbrella strollers. Its light and compact like an umbrella stroller but much sturdier. I have the older caddy version of this stroller for my daughter who is now 4 and still uses it. I've had it it for 3 years and its in great shape. I just needed to purchase a stroller for my one year old son and this is the stroller I looked for and purchased. I also use connectors to attach my two strollers, it less cumbersome than double strollers and I easily separate them when needed. I love these strollers, they are easy to use, don't fall apart and are definitely worth the money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Regret getting it, January 7, 2006

This was our second light weight stroller that we bought when our first child was 24 months old. Our major reasons purchasing it were the reclining capability, light weight, rain cover, big wheels, wider seats and much lower price tag than the other popular ones (such as Combi, Maclaren and Peg Perego). We thought we got a real good deal for the money... but now the child is 40 months and the stroller was falling apart and we had to buy yet another light weight - Maclaren Triumph, hoping it'll be our last one! The problems with the Chicco Capri stroller are 1)the canopy is useless and does not stay in place when it's not being used, 2) it's very hard to push and does not maneuver well with a child over 35 pounds, 3)wheels lock up often with a heavier child. In retrospect, we should've spent the money and bought a more sturdy ligh weight stroller to last 3 toddler hoods!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little stroller, December 16, 2004
This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
This is a great, light weight and compact stroller. One reviewer mentioned that the stroller wheels can't be locked when it's folded, but this isn't true. At least with the model I bought, each wheel has it's own lock, and they can be used anytime. As for the cup holder, you can buy these great attatchments (I got them in a Baby's R Us store, but a similar version is sold on line. They're called Clip N Go Stroller Accessories). It comes with a big cup holder, a snack holder, and clips that hold drinks/bottles/etc. With this added attachement (which is only $17), the stroller becomes just as nice as the big ones, without all the unneccessary bulk.

4.0 out of 5 stars so far so good, December 1, 2004
This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
i recently purchased the capri stroller.and right now am very happy with my purchase.i browsed amazons review section... and i found so many complaints, which according to me are really no problem at all.

somebody mentioned storage.there is a basket underneath the stroller and also 2 side ones hanging frm the canopy, esp for keys and cell phones and the like.
as for the canopy falling off the rods when down... the end of the rods can be turned(i hv not found this in any stroller..and is s cool thing coz u can actually tilt it to block the sun).so turn it in fully and it wont fall off.
the wheels can be locked when the stroller has been folded.

now remember..this is an umbrella stroller...so u cant expect full protection frm the sun or a huge basket to carry more than the essentials.

i was pleasantly surprised to find tht the capri was wider too.my 4 yr old can sit comfortably in it and not feel squished.also the canopy has 2 positions.so when my oldest is sitting in the stroller it can be put at the higher level.neat.

however after all this i do have two complaints.when the seat is in the upright position...it does not seem to be really tht much straighter.my younger son had his head away frm the seat sometimes.maybe i need to put a small pillow behind his head or somthing else.secondly, whoever designed the belt buckle was not thinking straight..or does not hv a child.how they expect a mom/dad to put the buckles in tht small tiny black hole when a child is in it(never mind screaming/kicking),i do not understand.its a good thing that he strap frm the bottom actually goes over the buckles.otherwise it does not make sense to purchase it..as it would hv driven u crazy.

all in all.. a pretty good deal for 50 bucks! and its cute to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect umbrella stroller!, March 17, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Capri Stroller - Red Tech (Toy)
In my search for the perfect umbrella stroller, the Capri seemed to have it all. I wanted something that could recline, had a basket underneath, and a canopy to protect from the sun. We've been using it for a few weeks now and I'm very, very pleased. It's lightweight yet sturdy and very easy to maneuver around. Often I have to hold my older daughter's hand when we're crossing the street, etc. and I can still maneuver the Capri one-handed. It folds up nicely as well. I also like the harness system it has - the shoulder straps are good for keeping smaller children safe in the stroller. My 13-month old daughter loves to lunge out of the stroller to try and grab things, so this harness system is perfect for keeping her safely inside. She is very comfortable in it overall. I have seen some complaints that the basket underneath is too small...I don't think you'll be disappointed if you keep in mind that this is an umbrella stroller - meant to be the smallest and most lightweight of all strollers. Many umbrella strollers don't even have baskets at all, so even a small storage space is appreciated. If you need something with lots of storage space, different compartments and bells and whistles, an umbrella stroller is not what you're looking for. But if you are looking for something scaled-down, lightweight, compact, easy to maneuver, and complete with some handy extra features, the Capri is it!!
