I nearly hit two kittens on the side of the road one day. I got out of my car to shoo them off of the road but they came up to me rubbing against my leg and purring. They looked horrible! They were very skinny and had fleas. And I took them home. I cleaned them up and fed them with the intention to get them homes. It's been two years and Harry and Smudge have been a great addition to the family. Only problem was, I could never get rid of the fleas! No matter what I bathed them in or gave them medicine wise would work. I saw this add for capstar saying that the fleas would start dying within a half an hour and will all be dead in 4 and was safe enough to give every 24 hours. I had to laugh. This was something that sounded way too good to be true. And if this was the case, why was it only 20.00 for 6 tablets? Surely such a miricle pill that works would sell for more! But I was desperate and decided that I would try it. Giving cats pills are no treat. Smudge took it in one try which was great. Harry on the other hand took more convincing. But either way, both took the pill. And sure enough the fleas started to die. Granted they have to bite the cat in order to die. So if you have as big of an issue as I did with the cats you should give it to them once a day for 3-4 days in a row. But that is it! You will be cured of the fleas! So now I give them one capstar a month and then the next day give them the Program tabs which keeps the fleas away or steril. Awesome and effective combination. And now that you can find it on Amazon for only 12.00! What do you have to loose?!

CAPSTAR works like a miracle cure. I have no idea why anybody would not rave about this drug.
It's safe and effective, killing all present fleas within hours. When used in combination with thorough cleaning techniques and longer term anti-flea agents, CAPSTAR offers a genuine cure for one of the world's
oldest complaints, "My dog has fleas!" I was amazed by how well it worked.

I don't know what's up with the other guy but my husband gave it to both of our cats without a problem, just popped it in their mouth held their mouth and they swallowed and like the box said within 30 minutes fleas were dropping off dead!

Vet had prescribed Frontline and Advantage, and was trying to re-prescribe when they didn't work the first time. We got online and found Capstar. Cat was very active for first hour due to flea activity, but an hour later, all the fleas were gone. None of the vets in our area would prescribe the pill, so our cat was suffering, because NOTHING ELSE WORKS! Thank you!!! PS: Cat was much happier and enjoyed his first restful nap in weeks thanks to Capstar

We have four cats and had been struggling with fleas. Frontline and flea shampoos didn't make a dent, so our vet recommended Capstar. Within fifteen or twenty minutes, the fleas started to fall of, and it worked great! HOWEVER, one of our cats had a bad allergic reaction to it and had to get rushed to the vet for additional shots to counteract the side effects. Just wanted to give that little warning to folks to treat their cats during normal business hours unless they've used it before. :)

This is an excellent product. It removes the adult fleas immediately. I use it on my cat twice a month. I plan to get another product to kill the developing fleas and break their life cycle completely. Your pet will thank you for getting rid of those pesky parasites.

I have used these for several years and they always work. The locate City shelter uses them all the time and has reduced the flea population in the cat room considerably. They get rid for the fleas in no time at all and give the cats a lot of relief.

I have a young beagle and two small/medium cats. I havn't been able to get rid of the flees for months now with the wal-mart drugs I was buying. With this, I just put it in thier food after they had gotten hungry from not being feed sence early that morning. Now 4 days later they are not scraching or pulling out hair any more!

Gave one dose to my cat and I have two observations:

1) The adult fleas are all dead!

2) It made my cat's heart rate skyrocket, had him panting heavily like a dog, and he was running and hopping around like he was insane. I was obviously very freaked out so I called my vet and did some googling. Apparently, the fleas can go berserk when this starts to enter their system and all bite at once. What I was told was he was having a reaction to being bitten everywhere and not a reaction to the Capstar. After ~30 minutes of this I started noticing dead fleas around him and he started to settle down and finally went into a deep sleep for a few hours.

Anyway, apparently what I experienced isn't all that common but I wanted to post my story in case someone else experiences this.

I probably won't try to use this again on this particular kitty as I'm sure it was a pretty stressful experience for him (and me!), but I would definitely recommend the product for animals that don't react this way.

After attempting to fight flea infestation for the past 6 months, with constant scratching & fleas jumping all over the house, I used this product on my dogs. In a few hours, the dogs were scratching less. I was able to sit on the furniture without feeling fleas hopping on myself. Approximately 24 hrs later, I observed the dogs hardly scratching at all. The product is most effective when followed up with a topical treatment such as Frontline, so the dogs are flea free for the month.

One bonus to this product is that you can administer another tablet at another time if the flea infestation reappears.

After using countless sprays, powders and just topical treatments, I found the Capstar was most effective with fighting flea infestation.
