4.0 out of 5 stars A pretty decent Cap read
I'm one of those Cap fans who got hooked on the character after reading Ed Brubaker's incredible run on the series a few years ago, so i've read plenty of older Captain America stories since then, and i gotta say i wasn't too impressed. Like many other comic book titles, Captain America has had its share of crappy stories before his most recent series. I'm happy to say...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Story That Is Prequel To Bigger Events
While this isn't the greatest of Captain America stories it does introduce elements that are essential to upcoming events. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good Story That Is Prequel To Bigger Events, July 8, 2009
This review is from: Captain America: Fighting Chance - Denial (Captain America (Unnumbered Paperback)) (Paperback)
While this isn't the greatest of Captain America stories it does introduce elements that are essential to upcoming events. This is a somewhat basic story of villians attack and Captain America fights back. The relationship between Captain America's former girlfriend Bernie Rosenthal with one of the villians who is engaged in a smear campaign against Cap, and Diamondback's search for information on Snapdragon do provide a little depth to the story. A big highlight for me was the interaction between Captain America and his current intrest Diamondback, and her interaction with Bernie Rosenthal. The artwork was also very
good and pretty standard for comics during this time.
If you're a fan of Captain America or just comics from the 90's(these issues were originally printed in 1994)then Fighting Chance should be a high priority. If you're new to Captain America comics then I'd have to recommend you start with Ed Brubaker's run on the series that begins with Captain America Vol. 1: Winter Soldier, Book One (v. 1) Although after reading those all other comics become pretty second rate. Still Fighting Chance is a good precursor to big events in the story of Captain America.

4.0 out of 5 stars A pretty decent Cap read, December 17, 2010
This review is from: Captain America: Fighting Chance - Denial (Captain America (Unnumbered Paperback)) (Paperback)
I'm happy to say this is one of the better stories i've read, and i've read almost every Cap trade out there. Its a pretty good read and will keep you entertained and the art is pretty good too. I agree with the other reviewer, if you're new to Cap, you should start with Ed Brubaker's series, and try Captain America: War and Rememberance. Its considered one of the best Cap runs and is a great read. If you're already a Captain America fan, you should be pleased with this book.
