Cap teams up with Spitfire and Union Jack in London and I loved it. Seeing Cap deal with older era heroes is awesome. Also, although it seems the Skull has been done to death (literally) Brubaker is still able to make him menacing and a serious threat. Epting's art is how see Captain America in my head. Classic looking stuff. Loved it!

Right before Civil War breaks out, Cap is in England investigating more. This story hints and moves well into Civil War and the induction of the Superhuman Registration Act. Another good read.

I really enjoyed this TPB of Captain America. It was really fun to see him in London battling Nazi leftovers and working with the Brits. The change of continents was nice and was fun adventure.

Another great part of a stellar run,
This review is from: Captain America: Red Menace, Book Two (Paperback)
The writer/artist team of Brubaker and Epting continues to deliver with the four-issue arc collected in this book, "Twenty-First Century Blitz." I wasn't too pleased with the preceeding few issues, but they really picked it back up with this one. Cap heads to London to hunt down Lukin and the Winter Solider, getting help from some old friends. Between the super-Nazis on a blimp and the reunion we've all been waiting for, this comic has a very "good-old-times" Cap feel to it. Brubaker really shows some of his pulp influence here. Epting, who has really grown into this book throughout its publication, is putting out some of his best stuff here. Nothin' but home runs as far as art is concerned. If you've been keeping up, some of the setup in "Collision Courses" starts coming into play here. Winter Soldier fans -- don't pass this up! You'd be missing what is to be the last team-up of Marvel's dynamic duo (for now, at least). Brubaker and Epting's whole run has been spectacular, and this installment, while not the best of the run, is a strong arc worth reading. My only caution is this: if you haven't read the previous issues, you might miss a few things.

London calling,
By N. Durham "Big Evil" (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)

Ed Brubaker's run on Captain America takes the star spangled super soldier overseas to London and puts him on a collision course with Sin and Crossbones, but luckily for Cap, he's got some help on his side. Brubaker's run began to appear as if it were hitting it's stride with the first Red Menace book, but with Red Menace: Book Two, a majority of the events come off as only marginally interesting. Brubaker's story isn't all that compelling, and while it's fun for a while to see Cap and Bucky (AKA The Winter Soldier) teamed up again in the modern day, it's just another somewhat compelling event in an otherwise predictable book. Speaking of predictable, the real fate of the Red Skull? Yeah, you didn't really think he was completely dead did you? Steve Epting provides his usual solid artwork though, and the final events leave the door open for Marvel's massive Civil War event, so the good does outweigh the bad here. All in all, if you've enjoyed Brubaker's run on Captain America, this TPB is worth picking up.
