Captain Kangaroo's Kids Like You [VHS]

This video features real kids that do some pretty amazing stuff. My children love it, especially the musical piece "Skateboard Johnny". In the process of showing these extraordinary kids (and the hard work and fun they're having), the Captain sparks Mr Moose and Bunny Rabbit to dream about what they would like to do "when you're a little older". The way Captian Kangaroo encourages Mr Moose is quite touching. Aside from a few ping pong balls, this video is as constructive and inspiring as any children's TV ever produced. Thoughtful dreaming is relatively rare among children's TV (except maybe among some of the fine material presented on Nick Jr, Noggin, and PBS). And its fun besides. I also love the fact that this video (and others in the series) keep the memory of Captain Kangaroo [and the gentle genius Bob Keeshan who played the role to perfection] alive for one more generation. Too bad there are not more videos (or DVDs) of Captain Kangaroo!

A very well-organized and appropriate video targeted at children age 3-10, maybe. Focused on exciting things kids can do, such as horse back riding, car racing...come to think of it, all slightly risky stuff. All done in an engaging way.

Well, I liked it but not my 2 year old. I guess it is too old for him. Good for a bit older then two year olds I would imagine since most of the children are 7 and up, I believe, in this show about what kids can do.
