The Cowsills possessed one of the most pleasing vocal blends in all of popular music. Captain Sad And His Ship Of Fools, the band's third long player for MGM, would prove to be a semi-conceptual album, which perfectly blended the group's earlier helium-filled soft pop buoyancy with mystical Psych Pop excursions and sunshine pop sensibilities. I had been hoping a reissue of this album was to take place and when i saw this the other day, i didn't hesitate to grab it. The artwork included is nice enough incentive for anyone on the fence as well as notes from Bob Cowsill speaking about the songs for the album. Add into the fact you also get bonus tracks in mono and one which isn't on the album proper and you have yourself a must-have pick-up if you're a fan.

I have always loved Captain Sad and His Ship Of Fools. I got this on an lp years ago,when I was a younger. I wore the record out. So glad to find it on CD. And I have played and played it. And it brings me back during the early 70's too. Those were the good years.
