5.0 out of 5 stars the best ballooning book on the market
As a hobby balloonist, I have found this to be the best book on the market. Many other balloon art guides offer the basics, and one or two advanced creations. This book offers the most bang for your buck (or pop for your penny), providing not only the "how-to" for all flavours of folds, twists, seeds, and other techniques, but non-traditional...

3.0 out of 5 stars decent overall, but still lacking
This is nicely laid out and easy to follow for beginners, but is nowhere near the 'complete' book it claims to be. Good points: 1.it includes how to make 'pregnant' balloon animals, 2.has a dozen decent multiple balloon pieces, 3.warns you to burp balloons to avoid bursting, 4.has a little info on working streets and busking etc. However, it DOESN'T include:...

5.0 out of 5 stars the best ballooning book on the market, September 25, 2000
This review is from: Captain Visual's Big Book Of Balloon Art: A Complete Book of Balloonology for Beginners and Advanced Twisters (Paperback)
As a hobby balloonist, I have found this to be the best book on the market. Many other balloon art guides offer the basics, and one or two advanced creations. This book offers the most bang for your buck (or pop for your penny), providing not only the "how-to" for all flavours of folds, twists, seeds, and other techniques, but non-traditional models--motorcycles, mermaids, lobsters, moose, bicycles...the list goes on. From beginner to expert, this book will please all but the most advanced balloonist, and maybe even teach the advanced balloonist a thing or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best, November 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Captain Visual's Big Book Of Balloon Art: A Complete Book of Balloonology for Beginners and Advanced Twisters (Paperback)
As a working professional balloon twister I have had to read a multitude of books on the subject of balloon artistry as part of by business. This book is simply the best I have ever read on the subject . The matter of how to run a balloon business is not covered in detail, which is something of a bonus, as you get more models, ideas and inspiration for your money than in many other books. THE BEST BALOON BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!

However, it DOESN'T include: 1.single-balloon human figures (commonly used in street shows), deer, crab, rhino or any other unusual single-balloon figures, 2.doesn't give any info on inflating by MOUTH (V. important and seldom taught), 3.no info on gags or jokes with balloons (ie. the flying ears, balloon that refuses to let spectator hold it, bow and arrow mime, jokes to use when it bursts), and one of the biggest disappointments...4. 25 of the figures in the book (one third!) are HATS - something I've NEVER been requested to make during six years as a performer, even after I've made some and given them away. All in all, it's clear and good for beginners or intermediates, but not good enough for those of us who want to learn more than all the other books teach.

This review is from: Captain Visual's Big Book Of Balloon Art: A Complete Book of Balloonology for Beginners and Advanced Twisters (Paperback)
Easy to read & follow & a wonderful resource for beginner & advanced twisters alike. Be careful of copyright violations for several of the characters but this book is a must-have for your library!

This review is from: Captain Visual's Big Book Of Balloon Art: A Complete Book of Balloonology for Beginners and Advanced Twisters (Paperback)
Although we have seen many of the designs before, the book was clearly laid out and gave some good ideas for developing our ballooning. Good for the beginner as well as the developing ballon sculptor!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best balloon sculpting books available., March 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Captain Visual's Big Book Of Balloon Art: A Complete Book of Balloonology for Beginners and Advanced Twisters (Paperback)
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced balloon artist, this is a book you need. It provides the most for the money of any balloon book I have seen. It has over 100 different designs, from simple to advanced, multi-balloon characters. Illustrations are good & directions easy to follow. Every balloon artist I have shown this book to wanted to get one.
