Advanced Book of Strategies,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
If you want to learn the basics of how craps is played this is NOT the book to read. It assumes you already have knowledge of the game and it assumes that you are somewhat familiar with Frank's first craps book "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos: How to Play Craps and Win!" which is also available from Amazon.com bookstore. This book is a very advanced book with ideas that are, as the title suggests, revolutionary. Folks who are stuck in the outdated crapsthink that predominates gambling writing by the "experts" might not comprehend the subtle arguments that Scoblete makes but any astute craps player will immediately grasp the rightness of Scoblete's approach to the game. This is a really profound craps book but as I said, it isn't for beginners.

Fabulous Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I don't usually rave about gambling books as most are of the same variety and could have been written by the same author. This book is radically different as it offers a method of play unlike any other I have ever enocuntered. Has it made me money? Yes, quite a bit in fact. Craps players have to get it through their skulls that the only way to beat the game is to find the hot shooters and the only way to do that is to have some method for eliminating shooters who are awful. This book gives just such a workable method, called the 5 count. With the betting systems in the book and the 5 count, you will see your bankroll gradually increase as I have done. Great book for craps players.

Will Go Over the Heads of Many,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I have to admit that this book does take some care in the reading of it. If you are the average craps player who's just looking to throw his money away on a "good time" many of the ideas and attitudes expressed by the author, Frank Scoblete, will go sailing over your head. if you have played craps and have been consistently losing and you want to change that situation, then give careful consideration to the ideas in this book. They will save you money AND give you a chance to win. The book is a work of genius but it isn't for everyone. Fools won't understand the importance of the 5-Count and idiots won't think the Captain knows what he's talking about. True craps players and thinking craps players will find the information in this book to be a revelation!

Great Triple Play for Craps Players,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I have just finished reading Frank Scoblete's three craps books: Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos, The Captain's Craps Revolution, and Forever Craps. I have been a craps player for over twenty-five years but I never really read that much after my initial few books. Over the course of twenty-five years I have lost a lot of money, as I played the worst possible bets and I would chase my losses.Scoblete's three books have been a revelation as well as a revolution in my thinking. Step-by-step he builds from one book to the other a method of play, a mind set, and a money management plan that is far and away the best I have ever heard of. I think reading the books in the order in which they were written, as above, is the key to really understanding Scoblete's insights and recommendations. By the time you get to Forever Craps, you will be ready to tackle the first "positive-expectation" craps approach. That approach requires discipline and full utilization of all the ideas that Scoblete has put forth in his wonderful books. I recommend you buy all three at the same time. Think of this as a "going to college" expense. Once you have your degree, which means once you thoroughly understand Scoblete's principles of play, you will find the time and money you spent ataining that degree will be returned many fold.

A Definite Classic,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
The first time I ever read about controlled shooting was in this book in 1993 when it first came out. Now, everyone in craps talks about how to control the dice. Scoblete did it first and has done it best. This great book is for serious players who want to really look at the game of craps with the intention of actually winning at the game and not just pretending to win. Get this if you are a dedicated player. The other books I recommend are The Craps Underground, Beat the Craps Out of the casinos and Forever Craps, two masterpieces by the master himself.

Another Scoblete Hit!,
By William Pill (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
This book came out in 1993 and has been considered by me to be a superior book even to Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos, Scoblete's first book. The reason is that this book is written for people who already know the game of craps. While it is best that you read Beat the Craps first, that is not mandatory. There are excellent strategies in this book that have helped me immensely at the tables.

Scoblete is the Master,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I loved this no nonsense book. It goes into detail concerning the various strategies of the Captain, the legendary Atlantic City craps player. This is one book that craps players must read and reread as it contains extremely valuable information and advice. And once you read this I suggest you listen to Scoblete's tape "Sharpshooter Craps." The two are a very powerful one-two punch.

A Serious Look at Craps,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I can't recommend this book to the casual craps player as it doesn't explain how the gameis played. It assumes you know already. But if you are a serious craps player I say, go and buy this book right now. It will probably change your view of craps forever!

Scoblete Does it Again!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
I am a fan of Frank Scoblete's writing but I had not read this book because it was hard to find in bookstores. Well, I bought it right here at Amazon.com and got it in a few days. It is just great!!!! Scoblete builds on the ideas he wrote about in his ground breaking book Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos. This is an advanced book and it is fast reading. It is worth every penny for the motivated craps player.

Great Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Captain's Craps Revolution (Paperback)
This is an advanced book about craps so readers who have never played the game might want to get Scoblete's "Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos: How to Play Craps and Win". In CCR, Scoblete goes into systems of play that involve the Captain's 5 count: the classical and radical supersystems, the high roller system and the oddsman's bet and others. It is a very good book and I recommend it highly. Like all of Scoblete's books, it is very well written.
