About the Author
Beth Edington Hewitt, a mother of two, has a Master of Arts degree in Christian education and specializes in children's ministry. She has served churches in Selma, Alabama, and Orlando, Florida, where she worked for six years leading a children's program of 300 children.

My kids love this!!,

I am a minister to inner city children and I have been using these sermons every week and my kids love the lessons. I have a hard time coming up with creative ideas like these so this book has been a tremendous help. I actually came on Amazon to see if there are any more becuase I don't want to run out of great ideas. I would like to see a memory verse with each lesson and also print the passage instead of just indicating the verse. I have spent as much as $50 for props on an individual sermon but that's what the kids get excited about and I give the props away to the kids that volunteer. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone who feels overwhelmed trying to come up with exciting children's sermons. Having some sermons in the bag allows me to focus my energy on reaching my kids and being more creative by using the book as a base to build upon.

Initially ordered this book to use the "Back to School" children's sermon. As I read through the book, I found numerous other children's sermons that I'm looking forward to using!! Provides some tips on creating an effective children's sermon, which were great reminders. I recommend this book :)

Captivating Children's Sermons is exactly what you need if you are looking for ideas that are fun, age-appropriate, engaging and spiritually relevant to children. It's full of object-lessons and anecdotes that help me easily present important spiritual principles in ways that all children can understand and enjoy. My personal favorite sermon is "Bugs in the Bible" - about how the Bible is full of fun stories. The children in our ministry love this stuff!
