Review

From page one this book is funny and sexy. I mean imagine a big, bad ass guy who's afraid of tiny, fluffy dogs. The book gets better and better, becoming more and more sexy as a woman who is thought to be meek and well-mannered turns out to be downright naughty and a guy who is thought to be a scarred bad boy starts to fall in love. This romance isn't sweet and lovey dovey; it's hot, funny, and oh so sexy.- A Girl and Her Kindle

I absolutely love Kellogg’s books and did not hesitate to buy this one the moment I saw it was available. I could not put it down. The characters were funny and touching, sweet and brass, and absolutely perfect for each other. I tend to stay away from romantic suspense books simply because I think so many of them fall short on one aspect, either not enough romance or not enough suspense. This book was a great blend, and there was no disappointment for me.

When I downloaded "The Naughty Never Die" I was content to settle into "my spot" with a cup of coffee and a blanket to read Kellogg's light, but fun sexy romance. What I got was a surprise. Grittier than her usual novels, Kellogg transitions here to the world of Romantic Suspense and does so with her fabulous talent. There's just enough humor and sexiness infused in the book to keep it from becoming too dark, but not enough that you would term the book "light" or a "sexy romp". As usual, Kellogg gives us wonderfully-drawn characters and, in a change, a fast-paced plot. A very good read and a good way to pass a snowy afternoon!

Don't waste your time. This unfortunate story was littered with characters being raped, groped, engaging in orgies, and these were NOT even the main characters! The romance was almost as twisted as what the other characters were engaging in.

This was a really good story! The heroine of the story is the governor of NJ's daughter who has taken on the duties and title of First Lady of the state after her mother's death following a drunken tumble down the stairs. The hero of the piece is a scarred (inside and out) ex soldier, and a few other former jobs, current owner of a security company who takes on the job of guarding the First Lady who has had several attempts on her life. Due to a miscommunication, the hero thinks he's to make the First Lady think she's been kidnapped while keeping her out of the way so that whoever is after her can be found. As you can imagine, much misunderstanding and merriment ensues. Although this is a mystery/thriller/romance type book there are some moments of sheer hilarity that will make you laugh out loud. The chemistry between the two main characters is super hot and there are some graphic sex scenes. There is also a truly heartbreaking incident in this book which will make the reader uncomfortable but shows how far a mother will go to save her daughter from rape. None of the sex and/or violence is gratuitous-it all fits in with the plot. The plot itself is somewhat convoluted and there are many red herrings on the way to the conclusion. The epilogue shows us what has happened to the couple over a year after the story ends-which I love as it gives the reader a feeling of satisfaction to know alls well that ends well. This is truly an excellent adventure that I recommend.

As I am a fan of Ms. Kellogg's writing, I was happy to receive an ARC of The Naughty Never Die to review! This was a fun and suspenseful romp. Josie (aka Joey) and Ryder have some real chemistry going, and speaking of Ryder-what a white knight! And Ryder scared of a tiny dog is a hoot. Although the romance half of the story is very funny, the book also includes an edgy thriller plot that will keep romantic suspense readers turning the pages. I highly recommend.

The story line and main characters in The Naughty Never Die by L.L. Kellogg were interesting enough however I found the story vulgar and close to pornography. I skipped many many pages. Unless you enjoy hard core sex I would not recommend this book and will not read another one myself.

The mystery's part is sufficiently well conceived to don't be totally predictable but...it is not sufficient to save the rest of the book.
What I didn't like about this book is the excessive insistence on the sexual part and the gratuitous use of crude words and crude situations which don't add anything to the story. All the characters seem to be driven mostly by their sexual instincts and very little insight is given on the other aspects of their personalities. All the dialogues gravitate around the characters' sexual needs, their (questionable) sexual adventures and so on. In addition, there are also too many secondary characters that create only confusion because they are barely named without having further roles in the story.
