More About the Author

For the last 18 years Terri and I have traveled the western U.S., Alaska, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Most of this travel has been in an RV, a form of travel we love. It's affordable and comfortable, the perfect way to see interesting places.

Over the years we discovered that few guidebooks were available with the essential day-to-day information that camping travelers need when traveling in unfamiliar surroundings. Our guidebooks are designed to provide that information in a handy and easy-to-use format.

We live full time in an RV and spend almost 100% of our time traveling in the areas covered in our guidebooks while we update the books and maintain an informaton-filled website: www.rollinghomes.com.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not latest edition, February 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Although this is generally a excellent guide, I was disappointed to find out later that a third edition had been published, but that the version sent by Amazon was the first edition. Hence, information was out of date and the online updates compiled by the authors did not apply to this edition.

Definitely worth buying..Good info on selected European campgrounds. Clear info on the campgrounds, directions, etc. Even nice if you are not planning to follow the authors' tours.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but not terribly relevant if you have kids, March 4, 2009

Interesting book, got some good tours, however if you are going to be RVing with children, this is not the book to plan that trip with. The sights mentioned in here are adult friendly only, and no allowances are made for childrens attractions at all.

The camping site information is okay, but again, they don't highlight sites with children friendly facilities. I think this book could do with more information for families and less information about scary bathrooms. Most of the bathroom information is enough to put me off travelling to start with.

Also Doesn't cover enough of europe to make it terribly relevant to planning a big trip and seems to have un-necessary stops where one central location could cover far more territory with much less driving and more use of public transport. The Benelux chapter is a great indication of this, with the first three driving being all about 3 hours in total, which is a lot of moving when one central location and some public transport would have gotten you all the sights and only one move.

Would like to see more information about the attractions available in each stop as well.

Interesting book for working out distances and how long it might take to get to places, but not terribly relevant for anything else
