This is a wonderful collection of songs! From Jan and Dean to Commander Cody and the Beach Boys, etc., it covers the era of auto music well. They hint of a second volume in the insert but I've yet to see one. Come on Car and Driver, let's have it! A very useful CD to get you in the mood for Cruise Nights and car shows!

The classic songs on this CD I bought from the Amazon site are best enjoyed with the top down and the wind in your hair. Many of the great car songs, by the original artists are collected here.

Good Hot Rod music. Come to Nevada, lock onto Hwy 50 and drive. This is a very good roadster CD. Yep good CD.

No, Chuck Norris didn't do it first,

Which is to say, he wasn't the first actor to sing his own movie or TV series theme song. Nor was Eastwood--the first was "Ballad Of Thunder Road", sung by Robert Mitchum on this collection in an adequate if not very memorable baritone--at least he didn't have to speak half of it the way Norris did with his "Walker" theme. Basically, the song tells the story of the movie--you don't very often find a theme song that goes that far. In a way, it's a violation of one of Hitchcock's rules as stated to the audience in the theatrical trailer of Psycho; "Don't give away the ending--it's the only one we have". But the song does offer sort an Appalachian change of pace from the predominance of California car songs here.
