5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mounting option
The vent mount gave me an excellent placement of my Nuvi 360 in my 2006 Camry. Preferring not to have the Nuvi in the glare of the windshield with the tail of a long-dangling power cord, I thought of mounting it on the dashboard behind the steering wheel (with the Garmin dashboard mount) for an easy view. 2.0 out of 5 stars Bad design
I bought this vent mount for my garmin nuvi 350. It's an ok product if you don't mind the thing jiggling aroung on your a/c vent. Appearantly it's not desingned for every car exactly. Despite the adjustment features it has it still can not maintian a steady footing on my a/c vent. And it was not easy to remove from the vent. Overall not a good buy. I wouldn't waste the...

But the vent mount, though about a foot from my driving view, turned out to be even better in some ways, placing the Nuvi just to the right of the turn signal lever where I can program the Nuvi with my rigt hand and, on occassion, adjust the angle to escape the glare from the front or back window.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good mount, but performance relies on your vent, January 27, 2007
This review is from: Car Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 370 360 350 310 300 GPS (Electronics)
This mount is quick and easy to assemble. Just remember to tighten the two screws (if they are loose, as mine were) before you snap the two pieces together. It's just a bit tricky to unsnap them afterwards, but doable.

I found the mount to be very sturdy and well constructed. It fits the Nuvi 350 even better than it seemed in the pictures. I very much like having the Nuvi down below my radio, as I finally feel like I can sometimes risk leaving it in the mount. On the windshield just seemed like an invitation to steal it.

Now the downside: the vents on my Explorer move a bit easily when you hit a bump, and the weight of the mount pulls the unit down. So you have to push the vent all the way down to minimize this. And, while the mount is sturdy, it will come out of alignment on a strong bump. This is different than the included Garmin mount, which was very strong and didn't move much except when you wanted it to.

I've also seen some concern about the heat/AC blowing directly on the GPS. In my Explorer you can close the vent without closing the horizontal slats, so that's not really a concern for me, but with other cars you might want to think about that.

It's also not quite as easy to see the GPS when driving as it was when I had it on my windshield and it was within line of sight, but the tradeoff is not having to set it up each time you get in the car.

Bottom line: Have no fear over the quality of the mount. Whether you love having the GPS in your vents is the only real question. After about 3 days of it, I think I slightly prefer the air vents mount over the windshield version.

ADDENDUM: I had a problem with my mount and contacted the customer service email address for this seller. They were very responsive, very prompt, very helpful. Really amazing, actually. I figured I'd bought this from a small company, so I was just going to be out of luck. But they went way beyond what I expected. Don't fear buying from these folks...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little gadget... only IF it's right for you., January 23, 2008

Look VERY carefully at the picture for this product. Note 3 things:
1) The louvers are horizontal
2) The louvers are FIXED (do not adjust up or down)
3) The position of the louvers in relationship to the driver.

Let's look at these three areas more closely...

1) There are two support posts on the back of the mount which will go over and attach to the top horizontal louver... so the louver MUST be horizontal.
2) If the louvers are NOT fixed (up or down), the weight of the Garmin unit will cause the mount along with your Garmin to hang flacidly downward in a position where you can't see the screen (it will face the floor).
3) The mounting bracket swivels left and right... but not up or down. Therefore, if the position of your vents are too high or too low in relationship to the driver, you might be disappointed in your ability to see the screen clearly in different light conditions.

However.....

If you meet all the above criteria, this IS the unit for YOU! I loved mine... I just wish someone had told me about the "fixed", non-adjustable (up or down) louver requirement...

Of importance to note: When I realized this was not the unit for me, I e-mailed the seller, and was cheerfully and promptly issued an RMA and a refund. So, even if this is not the right unit for you, (there are others)... I recommend this seller very highly.

I couldn't find a good mounting position for my nuvi 360 in my 2006 Toyota Sienna. The windshield mount option placed the unit too far in front of me to allow for access of the touch screen and I didn't want to put any permanent mounting disc on the dashboard. The installation for the vent was easy and I didn't need to read the instructions. The product seems to be very sturdy with reinforced ABS where the bolts are located. It was a custom fit for my nuvi unit and there is even a small tab that prevents the powercord from coming loose. There is also a slight tilt on the mount to allow for easier viewing of the screen when driving. The mount also has a nice swivel feature to allow the front passenger to access the unit and an internal spring connector which helps cushion road bumps. An excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glad I bought this, September 3, 2007
This review is from: Car Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 370 360 350 310 300 GPS (Electronics)
I am new to the world of GPS and the Garmin 360 has been a wonderful tool so far. Did not like the windshield mount that came with the unit; so I decided to buy and try this one instead. What a great idea! Easy to install and expect to use this mount for years. Another plus for me is that the vent we selected for the mount is the one my wife always closes; so now that vent serves a useful purpose. This mount is worth the cost. Note, I installed it in the center vent of the passenger side in a 2004 Honda Accord and encountered no problems at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Garmin Nuvi 360 Car Vent Mount, November 11, 2008
This review is from: Car Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi 370 360 350 310 300 GPS (Electronics)
This is the best mount option available in the market today for atleast Garmin Nuvi 360 ... I have installed this in my toyota corolla 2009 ... It is just a foot away from the driving position ... I can operate my GPS easily and without any risks ... The only issue I found is to remove the mount from the vent ... But again ... we don't do it often ... 4 cheers for this product ...

Didn't work for my car (landrover), or my mom's car (toyota corolla), or my fiances car (yukon). It just pointed down towards the floor with each of them. However, if it fits for your car it would be a good thing to have, so the gps isn't attached to the window. I went back to using my friction mount, which I love.
