D. D. Scott's bestselling books start out a bit Chick Lit, Gone-Country (The Bootscootin' Books). Then, they take on a Will and Kate gone-Bond, as in James Bond, twist (The Cozy Cash Mysteries). Next up, try Castle and Beckett, Gone-Country, with Bewitched tossed into the mix (The Stuck with a Series), followed by The Good Witch meets The Three Stooges and Tinker Hell (The Belle Bishop Books). In her latest series (The Royal Heirs), she's taking you behind the palace doors of the royal family of Kristianico, a tiny French Riviera country that, she so wishes was real so she could visit.

I started this book several times. Could not get into it at all. Not sure if it is me or what.

Sketchy, light-weight, no real plot or story line followed, had to make myself finish it. I would not recommend it.

I couldn't make it through a third of the book before finally giving up. I read 4 hours a day ( long train commute to work) and am willing to read just about anything, but this book was so silly and boring I just couldn't waste another moment of my time. I've read other stories by this author and found them to be amusing, but this was so silly and contrived I could not get into it at all...

I really enjoyed this book, as I have all of D.D. Scott's books. She's a great storyteller.......fun, interesting, witty, descriptive, some mysterious, some sexy, quick reads! What more could you want? Roman & Zoe are in the rainforest in this one, trying to protect her family's mines, plus Grams is SO funny! The story has an interesting twist with "Stanley," a former employee of Zoe's parents. It's a good, quick read! I'm looking forward to the next one in this series!

I'd give it 3 1/2 if half stars were an option!

These Cosy Cash Mysteries are all only what i'd call `alright', they're not deep and meaningful by any means, just a pleasant lightly humorous read.

This one, i'd have to say, is not one of the better ones of the series.
Its better than The Mum Squad short stioies, but not as good as the Bootskootin' ones and probably the, i don't want to say -worst- but least good of the Cosy Cash's. (These series all loosely tie together) but i digress...

I guess as a means to keep the mystery going, D D never gives out more than a sliver of ~The Problem~ at a time. That strategy really didn't do anything to help this book along. In fact it crawls along at a snail's pace. Zoe keeps hinting at some major life threatening detail she's not telling Roman about, in order to keep him safe. Calling it `Life Threatening' might be artistic licence in the extreme. It wasn't worth winding half a book around, that's for sure. Even now that i've had a chance to think about it, i'm wondering if i've missed something along the line.

In this one Zoe, Prince Roman , `R' (their version of Q), Grams and Roman's Mafia infested parents are all headed down to the Brazilian Rainforest to bust up a gem smuggling ring. You may recall that as well as being Santa & Mrs Clause, Mr & Mrs Witherspoon are astonishingly talented Gemmologists. One of their elves has gone bad and is stealing from them.

As I already mentioned, the story crawls along, there's no bang, there are no exciting turns of event, it just starts, trudges along and ends. It was all just very flat.

Its only cheep, it's worth buying for a couple of bucks, especially if you like the series. But don't expect big things.

This could be read as a stand alone but would make more sense if you read the previous Cozy Cash Mysteries. I love the characters and their quirkiness. The premise might seem a little weird but the book is definitely worth a read.
