Book Description

Are you under the impression that eating healthy meals -- especially those low in calories and carbohydrates, means sacrificing taste? Think again.

With a pinch of creativity and a little help from a certain stellar cookbook, you can lose weight, prevent diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, and boost your metabolism simply by eating the right foods. Low-carb diets such as Atkin's, Paleo, and South Beach diet have proved to be one of the most effective diets for healthy eating and weight management. Couple this with low-calorie foods, and, as famous chef Emeril Lagasse would say, "BAM!" You get the best of both worlds!

This cookbook contains low-calorie, low-carb collection of recipes for anyone interested in a myriad of benefits of both. This could be used as part of several low carb diets such as Atkin's, Primal, Paleo etc. A number of these recipes include no carbohydrates, while the majority (80%) contain less than one gram.

Lastly, this book was put together with another goal: to show you that dietary restrictions does NOT mean sacrificing taste. They don't need to take longer to prepare, and you don't need to be a master of the kitchen to follow any recipe in this book.

Additionally, we have shied away from strictly ethnic cuisines that demand a pantry full of specialty spices and ingredients. Take a moment to look through our book and you will see that you will likely have most of the ingredients already on hand. And there's more.

Inside "Low Carb Low Calorie Cooking Extravaganza" you will find:

- Each Recipe includes Carbohydrate and Calorie Count
- A number of recipes include 0 Carbs. 80% of them contain 1g or less of Carbs.
- All Recipes are 375 Calories or less
- Includes fully functioning Table of Contents
- The recipes do not require specialty ingredients
- The Cookbook contains 71 recipes in the following categories:
  • 11 Breakfast
  • 20 Lunch
  • 10 Snacks
  • 10 Appetizers
  • 20 Dinner

"Low Carb Low Calorie Cooking Extravaganza" is unique because it's stocked for all occasions - and it's all low-carb, low-cal, from breakfast right through dinner. On top of that, by following these recipes, you'll not only boost your health, but you'll also look and feel great. Now what could be better than that?

Happy Cooking and Healthy Eating !!!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars The Carb counts are incorrect.. September 27, 2012
By Anne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The only negative I have, and it is important for people on an Atkins or low carb diet, is that the author did not calculate the carbohydrate counts correctly. Most of the recipes are indeed very low carb, but not quite as low as she marked. For example, tortillas and split peas are NOT low carb foods. And such foods as tomatoes, onions or Splenda are not carb-free and must be counted in the total amount used in a recipe.
All in all though, most are wonderful recipes and a good meals for eating low carb. Just do your own calculations for net carbs and you should be fine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Research Involved March 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Susan Daniels has put quite a bit of effort into collecting recipes for her Low Carb Low Calorie Cooking Extravaganza (Healthy Eats), researching her information and recipes at sites such as About: Low Carb Diets where you'll find those Pumpkin & Pecan Pancakes another reviewer mentions; 3 Fat Chicks On A Diet - their Ricotta Cheese Belgian Waffles sound divine; Simply Recipes, home of Baked Shrimp with Tomatillos; and of course, hardly least though I'll mention them last, Allrecipes, where I found the Asian Lettuce Wraps recipe that looks so delicious.

Daniels has included a very nicely done interactive Table of Contents that interfaces correctly with the Kindle Navigation Menu, so she gets an extra star from Grandma for getting that right plus the two I'll give her for putting a bit of work into her collection rather than simply dropping by Allrecipes. By the way, the recipes I found were all very highly rated.

Your call.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best low carb recipes I've seen. March 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a fan of low carb eating. It has worked well for me for losing weight and maintaining that loss.

I'm always on the lookout for new recipes and this well-formatted, easy to read book gives me lots of them.

The Jerk Chicken Wings are to die for and the Walnut Crusted Salmon is amazing. I can't wait to try more of the recipes.

I really appreciate the info at the end of each recipe - number of servings, calories and carbs.

Healthy low carb and low calorie recipes that satisfy and taste great. I love the division of recipes in the table of contents into breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinners.
I adore lettuce wraps and the recipes in this book are fab.

The devilish deviled eggs are so much like the ones my grandmother made. I consider them to be real deviled eggs, not just stuffed eggs.

Eggs Florentine are the next big breakfast treat we will have around here or maybe a Mexican omelet

Buy this book and maybe you can have a great healthy meal for your family with one of these great recipes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy April 22, 2014

Just starting out on my low carb eating. Can be a challenge trying to piece together good meals throughout the day. This helps do that by using most things you have already. I use this book often right now and I haven't heard of any complaints.
